NSS shopper goes to 5 stores for help: [youtu.be]

My only concern is that she is no longer anonymous.....

While her outfit was cute, I kept looking at that scarf. Not only can a scarf slip over and block the camera, they are notorious for static which can be a death sentence for the button cam.

Here is the link to the RESPONSES from all 5 shops that this MS visited. I was impressed that NONE of them tried making excuses for any lack of responses by their employees...maybe they really DO count on our reports! The ONLY question in the back of my mind was that there was apparently a camera person with this MS, and so just knowing/seeing that, wouldn't you think that this MS would have received A+ service? So I wonder why the store employees still failed in some aspect or another. Anyhow, here is the link to the Corporate responses to this MS: [www.youtube.com]
Well after looking at the video, I think the "mystery shopper" in the video is in reality an employee of the company (or possibly even the owner?) who doesn't mind being outed, as opposed to an IC. Also, the camera is a hidden camera on the other person, so they don't get outed during the shop. This was not a video shop, but more of a report on how a mystery shopper operates. Interesting video but barely shows really how the industry works in terms of putting together the reports, communicating with the customer, etc.

I thought it was a combination of the two with some of the video filmed by the "shopper" and some by the person following. It did seem to have been created for the news outlet rather than an actual customer.

Hi all!

Dayna was, in fact, an employee of ours at the time this was taped (2008). This was a news piece done by our local news department in Sacramento, CA; our corporate headquarters is located nearby. The companies were selected by the news department but the forms were designed based on our best practices in which companies should focus. This was news piece and not an actual series of mystery shops. Dayna was playing the role of the customer and she had a cameraman that was wearing a hidden camera following her to film the interactions.

We're glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for watching and commenting!

Question: If this were a (regular hidden video shop assignment) and the shopper went to the assigned store, wearing her hidden camera, wouldn't the male cameraman with (hidden video) be observing proprietary information, unless he signed an ICA agreement too?

I guess what I am saying is: we, as shoppers, are not allowed to discuss our shops, or the specifics of them, but the cameraman tagging along with his hidden camera, what is his role in confidentiality as he is viewing the entire shop?

Or, was this just for the television station and all ICA rules were waived?

Hope I am making sense, as I have not done the video shops. smiling smiley
B_Eason said it was for the news show and not actual mystery shops. If a traditional shop like dining requires a guest, the video shop will also require a guest.
