Sonic -- No Receipt -- Report or Reschedule?

I'm KICKING myself for not noticing it. I did a drive thru shop and didn't realize that he didn't give me a receipt until I parked my car to take a pic. At that point, there were several cars in the drive thru and I figured if I drove back through, it would seem obvious that I was the shopper. Will this invalidate my shop? Please don't answer if you're just guessing. Thank in advance!

I would have taken a picture of the location and menu board if I saw they had not given my receipt to me. You may get a variance and a pass because sometimes receipts get lost or are never given at all. You were correct not to drive back through the drive thru.

In your report, were you given a receipt? You answer no and plead your case. smiling smiley
I had a drive through with the chicken place which I believe is shopped by the same company that shops Sonic. I also did not get a receipt and did not realize it until I left the drive through line. I took a picture of the food I received and contacted the help desk after I had submitted the shop without the receipt. I uploaded the picture of the food instead of the receipt and mentioned what happened in the comments. My shop was accepted and I was paid. So unless it is convenient for you to reschedule and do a reshop, I would go ahead and submit it and see what happens.
Ok I guess I'll submit. I took pictures of my food bag and drink because they usually tape it to either of those. My worry is that they messed up a few other things so I hope they don't try to fight it. I re-read the directions and they stated to ask for a receipt once if not given one so that's where they can fault me. Ugh. I do a lot of shops with this company so I'd hate to get a strike against me over a $6 Sonic shop...

An important question to ask: How many total assignments have you done for them? A newbie might get a harder time, whereas an old-timer might get a faster pass because all their other FF places, they had turned in a receipt.

Maybe my logic is off but I worried more when I was a newbie... establishing myself and back then, I felt most companies would not tolerate too many boo boos. smiling smiley
How did you pay? I had a wings shop where I lost the receipt (they gave it to me, it was completely my fault). I had paid with a credit card, so I logged on to my credit card account and took a screen shot of the transaction posted there. Of course it didn't show what I purchased or the server's name or things like that, but at least it showed the date, location, and amount spent. My shop was accepted. It's not the same company, so they may not take that either, but it's another option to consider if you happened to use a debit or credit card.
I feel ypur pain. I just got home from re-shopping a $6.00 shop because once again I failed to get a receipt. I have decided to purchase a travel size stapler. For these conv store shops I will immediately staple the recept to the guidelines. Maybe that will help me. It's infuriating having to repeat a shop all the way across town.

(MSC name) will let a receipt slide here or there but this shop asks for specific info from the receipt so it looks like this one is out of your pocket. You have to comment on whether the receipt has a phone number or survey on it. And you also have to upload the receipt to the report itself so it's different than their other reports.

Mod note: It is a violation of Forum rules to connect an MSC with its clientele. Because the client was named earlier, the MSC name has been removed. It is probably also a breach of your ICA with that MSC

I would have rescheduled. But, that's just me. I hope your outcome is favorable. Let us know!
SouthShopTexas...please edit your post. You mentioned the MSC in a thread with the business name already stated.
Well, I skimmed the report and I just didn't see how I could report it without outright lying so I decided to reschedule. This location is lucky I missed their error -- gross fries, overflowing trash, no name tag on the employee, no mint AND NO RECEIPT! Ugh. At least it was money spent on feeding my hubs (and not cooking dinner!) and it's just a few blocks from my house. Back I go.
I think rescheduling was the best thing. I got kicked out of (name of the MSC) for not getting a receipt, even though I asked for one once, as required. I did get reinstated when I pointed out that this was in the report. I can't believe that it isn't a mark against me, though, in my file somewhere.

If it was Sonic, I would just reschedule and take the loss as a learning experience and cost of doing business, especially since this MS Company is generally very anti-shopper anyway.
Wolfman,

So sorry you have had issues with the MSC.

OP, thanks for your integrity. You were supposed to ask the cashier "1 time" for your receipt if it was missing.

Just a note about this that I observed while filling out my report today. When asked if I had a receipt, it was either a yes or no question. Also, there was a box that said to explain why you didn't have one. This is different from the sample report given in the guidelines. I clicked no just to see what would happen and it didn't have any further questions about it. This makes me think I would have been fine if I explained that I was not given one and there were several cars in line behind me so I was unable to go back and get one. Just FYI for others who might run into this situation.
Oh! Nevermind! More questions about the receipt later in the report! Glad I re-shopped. smiling smiley
I am so sorry... I completely did that unintentionally! Thanks for pointing it out and I'm sorry I got to it too late to do it on my own.

I had a DT shop not too long back where I got down the road and had no receipt. The picture was enough to get me by, I reckon. I'm pretty sure I asked for one and still didn't get one. I held my breath, because they weren't quick on the draw, so having had a shop denied allegedly for "a timing error" at another location, I was in suspense...
It depends on which company you did the Sonic shop for- the BIG company usually wants a receipt- but the small company tells you NOT to ask for a receipt at all if one is not given.

If it's the current Sonic's shop from the big MSC, I believe you still take a picture of your entree. An email to Helpdesk to verify if the picture will be enough may pass, as you stated.

I may be doing it wrong, but I have had to ask for a receipt afterwards also, even if it means going back in line. I just mark that I had to ask for the receipt.
I could have done that but I shop these locations at least once or twice a month and felt like that would scream "I'm the shopper!" Plus, after half a dozen cars had gone by, I wasn't sure they'd even be able to pull my receipt up.
They can do the reprint easy, just tell them what your order was. I had to do a reshop once cuz I messed up my order as a newbie, so I always will get the receipt due to finances. I have to do a mental check lol, pictures, receipt, timing, names, got credit card back like three times due to my adhd so it helps me remember.
