PayPal Question

For those who use PayPal, how do you manage it: transfer to you bank right away, wait until you have $X accumulated to transfer, or just leave it there?

I'm a newbie, but I have a debit card for my Paypal account. So I leave it there. I can't say whether or not that will change though.
Yes.
I've done all of the above. My mystery shopping money is fun money for me.
Sometimes I just leave it there to build up til I want to spend it on something. Other times I transfer it right out.
I transfer to bank account each time I hit $500 or more. Then I pay off debt!

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.
Most of my pay is directly deposited into my local bank accounts. For those who pay me by paypal, I leave the money in there and use my paypal debit card whenever I need to make a purchase. Having money in paypal also comes in handy when buying on ebay.
I used to accumulate funds in my Paypal then I squandered it on a business venture. Nowadays, I don't ever let it go high enough to be tempted. I cash it to my account and it's safer that way.
Check your PayPal accounts. You may have a small addition. There was a class action suit against them and they just paid out yesterday. For me it was around $28.00 . Not a fortune, but a nice unexpected little surprise.
I wait until I have a certain amount of money in the account then transfer it to my checking account. Otherwise eBay is too tempting.
I immediately transfer it to a bank account that is just for PayPal. They are a necessary evil.

Same as Passwordnotfound here as soon as I get it it goes to a bank account.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Thanks everyone. It looks like everyone does some different. I currently transfer it after every payment, but I will let it accumulate and then transfer to my bank twice a month. Hopefully, eBay won't scream my name.

Thanks for the info! I think I was in PayPal hiatus during the time frame of the class action.

I use the PayPal debit card as a credit card for mystery shopping purchases that allow credit card payments. Easier for me to keep track of the funds that way. I leave enough in the account to cover my average monthly MS expenditures. I earn bonus money from PP as well.

I transfer mine into one of my 3 checking accounts immediately unless I have bought something using PayPal credit...then I use it to pay off whatever balance is there.
"Cash" is king so I transfer each PayPal payment directly into my business checking account. My debit card with my primary bank earns actual cash rewards and offers other deals so I have no need for a PayPal debit or credit card. Apparently I do not have the eBay addiction that some of you seem to have. I don't even know if I have a valid eBay account.
I have a paypal debit card. I keep it in the paypal account and use the debit card for MSC related expenses. It keeps everything in one place and is easy to keep track of. By using the paypal debit, I don't confuse MSC expenses with my regular household expenses. I don't do many reimbursement only shops but if I see something I like, I don't hesitate because I use the paypal account to cover the expense. Other than that, I tend to treat it like a savings account.

What bank debit card does better than the 1% the PayPal Debit card gives? I need to change banks if there's something better.

I opened a savings account just for my PayPal account. I transfer the money after every payment to this account. I like keeping my savings myself in this account and there is no confusion. I do not use PayPal as a debit card.
One of my local banks has 1% on everything and 2% to 3% on rotating categories. I run everything through my bank account. When getting more PayPal payments my routine was to transfer them all every Friday. Now it's hit and miss.

LisaSTL just curious. What do you mean about 1% on everything and 2% to 3% on rotating categories.
Bank of America has a BankAmericard (yep, that's the real name) that is a credit card, not debit card. You can funnel the cash rewards that you earn into your Bank of America account (and you get a bonus when you do). It has 3% on gas, 2% on groceries, and 1% on everything else. No rotating categories, those are static.

Credit card rewards are easy to find. Debit card rewards not so much. There are some of us out there who don't do credit.

Rotating categories is four groups that each appear for one quarter. During the rest of the year they still pay 1%, just during their bonus quarter it is higher. The bank is local so not BOA.

I also wait until I have more than $500 in account and then move $500 to my bank. I then use that money to put down on next year's vacations.
I've been on feebay since the Skippy days. It can be occasionally useful. Last month I picked up a donation shop for a nice bonus. Used the reimbursement allowance to buy a toy which I then turned around and sold on feebay for 3x what the bonused shop was worth. Although there are fewer true bargains than there used to be, their charity section often has interesting things including hotel stays and admission tickets.

Everyone, thanks for the input! I appreciate it because I can see what others are doing and, in turn, streamline my method.

My cell provider is terribly expensive to do an upgrade through. I like modern cells, so I end up getting them new on eBay (feebay lol) for much cheaper.

I leave it in there until I need it for something else. We do a lot of online shopping for Christmas and I was surprised how many retailers accept Paypal. It was a nice way to not take a hit on the credit cards or bank account, since I see my shopping money as fun money anyway. Last summer we used it to pay for a long vacation in the mountains, after booking the hotel I immediately transferred the amount from Paypal into the bank to pay for it. Recently a friend bought us tickets for an event and I paid her from Paypal.
