Confero shop at non-existent address

I checked with police and residents and drove around endlessly. The street name does not exist and GPS can't find it. Google doesn't even have the company listed. Telephone voicemail is vague, no name. I emailed both schedulers three times today and no reply. Am I crazy??? Sure as the day is long, I will have an email in the morning with a citation. I won't go back since this was a full day route, it's 80 miles round-trip and the job paid $11.50. This work really does suck sometimes. Okay, end of rant.

No need to rant. You'll get $8 because the business was gone.

I did a similar shop not far from me. There was a business at the location, but not the one I was supposed to shop. I put everything in my report (including the pics and a screenshot of my GeoVerify). $8 for my efforts.

The OP may get full pay depending on the MSC. A few reduce the fee, while most still do not.

Lisa, that's good to know. He will get something; full fee at best!

Let's hope so. Off hand I can only think of a few who don't pay the full fee as long as requirements were fulfilled. The only other no pay scenario that comes to mind would be a requirement to call to verify the location was open along with instructions not to go if it could not be verified. I got caught by one of those once. The store was one I passed all the time. I missed the fact it had closed up at some point. At least it was only five minutes from home.

I guess it comes down to if there was a requirement to verify the address somehow?

How did you go to the right area in the first place if the address was not on the map?

I need to start screenshotting my GeoVerify app when this happens. That is a really good idea.
It has saved me on several occasions! Especially when no business card is available.

Thanks for the GeoVerify screenshot idea! I sometimes forget I have it and should use it for ALL shops from now on, just in case. I did take a photo of the cross streets where the 1000-1100 block was located.
I once did a lot of shops for this company. A few years ago I had emergency surgery and was getting ready to go into the operating room and was desperately trying to cancel all of my pending shops. I called directory assistance and got Confero's Cary North Carolina number and explained to the person what was happening. She was cold and uncaring and said I would need to call their scheduling company (without giving me their phone number) or use the e-mail system and would not lift a finger to help me get my pending shop cancelled (to this day I have even saved the e-mail where I used one of those directory assistance services and was charged $.50 for making the call to get their number). When I got home after six weeks in Asheville at St. Joseph's hospital where I nearly lost my life from infection, I found they had deactivated my account. Where other schedulers and mystery shop companies send me get well cards and were more than willing to work with me Confero stood alone in not caring if I lived or died.

I tried quietly for six months to resolve the situation but their C.E.O. Elaine Buxton keeps everyone over there on a short leash that even their Vice President said there was nothing he was empowered to do to help me.

Finally I used this forum to call out Ms. Buxton, she was not amused, but at least I finally had the attention of their C.E.O.

She then thought she would try to run me out of the mystery shop industry but I have maintained ties with everyone else. Here I am, with no insurance, only wanting to continue my shops for them and this wealthy C.E.O. decides to wage jihad against me as I struggle in a power chair to get back to doing mystery shops.

This is a soulless company, bereft of compassion. Even as I had part of my foot amputated and went through months of therapy Elaine Buxton stood alone in her intransigence yet her outsourced schedulers continue to send me e-mails on an almost weekly basis pleading with me to to take their grocery store shops that are all over my area.

Confero represents the absolute worst in the mystery shopping industry. I did all I could to resolve things with them pleasantly and quietly, I fully documented what happened to me and the extraordinary steps I made to resolve this situation.

Please avoid Confero.

The tax office I went to that was another business is posted back on the job board. I did another one this week and the business was an empty lot.

I am not intending this to be mean spirited. Am I missing something? Why would one take an assignment that required traveling 80 miles but only paid $11.50?
My guess is that the shop was routed with other shops or personal business. That would be why I would take a shop like that, anyway.
