Revealed Tobacco Audits

I have done not revealed tobacco audits in the past where I go into the store, make a small purchase and attempt to buy tobacco without an ID. Normally I'd get like 9/10 locations would pass this. I saw a bunch of revealed tobacco audits a few days ago and signed up for them today. They looked really easy and no purchase was necessary. They were easy....but.....

Over half of the locations failed, and since it was a revealed audit I had to tell the store managers. The store managers (at multiple locations) were calling over the employees while I was still in the store. Needless to say, I hopped in my car quickly and drove far, far away.

Almost always they want a small purchase if tobacco is denied or allowed. I believe if tobacco purchase is allowed they want you to buy it. The small purchase is for proof of visit especially if tobacco is denied. The revealed ones are to a manger after and only if they failed from what I remember. Yes the employee can get fired but I think the stores use these as more of a training teaching method. It is better you then a undercover working with the police where they now have a record.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

If you have to actually make the purchase, then you have your receipt as proof of visit and proof of transaction. The manager has in-store video as proof of transaction. I would recommend that you ask the manager to wait until you have left the store before addressing the concern with the cashier. Then you should leave the store and the parking lot immediately. You do not want to be present for a firing, and you do not wanting that cashier remembering you or being able to identify your car.
