What would you do? Incorrect pay listed- submit report?

I was called to do a shop for $55 and countered with $75. The scheduler agreed and thanked me. The day before the shop, I noticed the pay was set at $55 and emailed her to let her know it wasn't right. She emailed me back right away and said it would be fixed. The day of the shop, it's still at $55. I did the shop but told her via email that I would submit the report when the pay was updated.

This was on Friday, July 1st and it's still $55. Since it's been a long holiday weekend, I'm sure everybody is out of the office. I'm a little worried that the report will be so late and am wondering if I should have just submitted and trusted the scheduler. I don't really doubt that they will keep their word, but it seemed wrong for me as an IC to submit my work without an accurate statement of what I would be paid.

Since you have an email saying that it would be fixed and changed to $75, I'd submit the report, get it off your plate, and deal with the money later.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
Ditto. Hopefully it is not 'too late' already to report it. I would risk $55 and fighting for the $75 promised rather than see $0 because it was submitted too late to use.
I echo the same advice. You have a proof of what you are supposed to be paid so I would complete the report. If there is any issue on the amount, you could deal with that later when you have done your job. If your report is late, you will have a harder problem. Like they say, "A bird in hand..."
I agree with the others. The holiday weekend does not play in your favor for quick response. I would rather wake up tomorrow knowing the report was submitted and the MSC tacked on the additional fee.smiling smileysmiling smiley
This type of thing has happened to me several times but it has always been considered a bonus for the additional money and not added to the advertised pay rate. The pay for the job remains the same but the bonus is not mentioned at all. I get an email like you did and they have always honored that. But of course you know the company you are working for and whether they are trustworthy. But like others said, do the report and then fight for your money.
The same thing happened to me recently. On the posting it said $45, once I applied and got assigned, the paperwork stated $30.00. So I emailed the scheduler and she stated that there was a change but the $45 was the correct. I saved that email. When I got paid it was the correct $45.00.
