Harris Teeter

There is a new Harris Teeter coming to my town. How is the report for the shop? How is the shop? I haven't done the shop because of the low reimbursement. For a first visit at a new store, I'll give it a try.

And yes, I know this topic has been discussed many times. What topic hasn't?

The shop and report is simple. The client also does competitor shops. The guidelines are the same so you have to adjust for things like proper uniform and display placement/layout.

Concur with Isaiah58 on all counts. Easy shop, easy report. Not the greatest fee/reimbursement, but not bad for the effort, plus you need groceries anyways...

IIRC, the competitor shops are scheduled a couple times a year. They are a nice change of pace.

Take one and give it a try. Your experience may be different than ours...

Thanks!

I've done one grocery shop before, other than a weekly audit. I won't even try to stay under the reimbursement. I'm going to take another look at the guidelines.

I've been eyeing a few of these shops as well. They are a little ways away from my home but near where I sometimes shop.

Thanks for the insight, I was wondering how much work they are.
They are great fillers when on a route or near by. Because of the CS interaction they are uncomfortable to try and do every month at the same location. If you have performed the whole paycheck CS shop then you will find this a breeze.

If you do them often, you will get to know the employees at each department. I find the meat/seafood counter to be the most challenging as I keep running into the same folks and feel my questions are getting kinda thin. The CS is easy for me as I never run out of logical reasons to stop in, such as:

- Question about education program
- Question about VIC program
- Question about fuel rewards
- Ask for a copy of your eVIC specials
- If all else fails, find an out-of-stock item in the sale ad and ask for a raincheck or substitution.

Like you HonnyBrown, I always go over the reimbursement and usually by a good amount. Ya gotta eat after all...

The meat/seafood counter does get hard after a while and a lot of time I end up ordering something so it seems more natural to ask a question. At C/S, I either do find something on sale but out of stock and get a raincheck (this is great because you have "proof" you went to c/s if asked) or I will occasionally by a lottery tickets and then can return to check winnings on the next shop.

LOL...I have started doing the same exact thing at the meat/seafood counter by buying something to seem more natural as a customer. The always on-sale boneless/skinless chicken breasts for $1.99 have been a staple.

I thought of the lottery ticket purchase, but thought I had to ask a question of some sort for the interaction to be valid. Have you been questioned at all by the MSC for the lottery tickets? If not, I may have to add that one to my list...

No I haven't been questioned about the lottery ticket at all. I think it's ok because you are still measuring the time to be acknowledged and then requesting a service. With the lottery ticket you could always ask what the jack pot is and/or if you can redeem the ticket there. Mostly I try to find something for a rain check which with Super Doubles last week and Triple coupons next week (assuming they post the August shops by then), it's been easy to do lately.

I did a shop at Aldi last month. The reimbursement was $5, and I could easily do that without going over. I ended up doing my grocery shopping.

I do the weekly audits at Aldi. The reimbursement is $1 Since I do two of them a week, I would go broke if I shopped each time. I buy chili powder or a plum on those days, or I make returns.

Who did you do the Aldi shop for?

And harris teeter? We have several around my area, would be interested in signing up.

If you start doing the HT shops, you should definitely pick up couponing as well as you can get a ton of stuff a be close to or under the limit since HT doubles all coupons under $0.99 everyday.
Thanks for the tip!

I'm not good at couponing. Either I buy items I don't need, or they sit in my purse until long after the expiration.
