Movie Theatre Covert Counting

So I took a mystery shop for a theatre im pretty close to. I have to count all the people in the theatre for the movie. Im drawing a blank on how to stay incognito though. The movie theatre has one entrance, one line for tickets, and the exit is in view of the ticket/concessions area. Its a small older theatre. Does anyone have any tips?

I did one and got there early and sat up towards the top of the theatre and counted people as they walked into the theatre for that movie. I kept track on my phone. As I counted I would text myself the count.
I appreciate that! Any tips on how to not get them to recognize you when you go to buy tickets for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th times?
If your going on a Friday night opening showing and there are entrances on both sides, you can't count the people entering as they flood in at the last minute and are in and out for concessions.

Simply count the rows and seats per row that are standard without handicapped and have this total calculated ahead of time. Stand up front during the movie and then subtract the empty seats from that total and add the handicapped row to the total.

I usually need get up and leave and make a quick second visit the concession and restroom anyhow during the showing.
Its a small theatre, Im going on Sunday, and its going to probably be Suicide Squad, so there shouldn't be to many people there. All the screens only have one exit, and one crazy emergency exit, so counting people should be ok smiling smiley
I only had to go to one movie so I had to buy only one ticket so I can't help with buying more than 1 ticket.

Can you buy the tickets online? Is there a self ticketing machine? Is the theatre close enough to buy advanced tickets the day before. Just some suggestions.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Never done the theaters before - but I would sit wayyyy on top in the very back against the wall and go from there.

Get yourself one of these - keep it in your pocket click the button while your hand is in your pocket, perhaps?

I have one, and used it when I was working night club security (to keep count of how many patrons were inside the bar -- and to keep in compliance with fire code capacity limits). Just walk around the crowd and count heads. smiling smiley
I usually end up seeing a kid's movie or family movie and explain that it's hard to tell which kids paid for a ticket and which didn't, so I do my best. I have tried counting as they come in and then subtracting those that leave for restroom or concessions... if its a small theater, thats not a bad option. For larger, I count rows and seats across, then check for the number of empty seats.

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
Don't stress remaining incognito. I do these at small theaters where sometimes I have been the only one in a theater. No one at the theater has ever said anything to me. The only time someone called me out it was another shopper who was apparently checking the same show.

Shopping since 2009
MSPA Gold
If I'm doing one of these I will try to go to the first showing of the day when there might be me and a handful of other people in there. Super easy to count. Just make sure you sit on the top row.

Newbie with lots of questions!
I just count the people when they leave. Stand in the aisle, exit door, like I am waiting for someone. Only once did people go in and out and I was not sure of the count. so I just wrote that in comments.
Can you guys tell me which MSP is offering the movie theater shops? I'm sure there are numerous, but I"m pretty sure the MSP used the Sassie system. Around 3am today, I came across their website, but cannot remember who it was, because I was half asleep.
