How were you able to drop your data plan? I have Verizon, and a data plan is mandatory if you have a smartphone.

To answer your question, it may be the strength of the wifi you were using, or how many people were on it. I tried it using my home network and got a code with no problem.

GeoVerify hasn't worked in my mall for several months. I have tried inside and outside. I'd say its the software with the problem. I have no problem getting geotags on my snapchats smiling smiley

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just forget to load the film.
@HonnyBrown There are at least 2 small carriers that provide limited service for free or a small deposit in case you exceed the limit. They make a great back up phone or to use when you do not want to give your real number while completing a shop.

@Arch Stanton
Have you updated recently?
I had the same issue the other day. I was completing a shop and had no signal. I even attempted to use 2 strong WiFi signals with no luck. I gave Geo-verify a name for the location but, it would not process. When I returned home and hooked on to my WiFi the information completed processing.

I have a month to month T Mobile plan $40.00 for 1GB of data with unlimited text and talk. So I dropped the data portion and now only pay $25.00 per month for unlimited text and calls. It is an LG Leon smartphone. Except for today's Geoverify problem, free Wi Fi is absolutely fine...BUT... will shops be rejected if Geoverify is not working???

Also, if anybody can recommend a pre paid/ pay as you go smartphone plan, please advise me. Consumer Cellular reviews on the web are horrible in spite of their favorable claims on TV. Anybody using TING or Republic Wireless ??? I barely use text and the phone....Thank You
Will try Geoverify later at home with my Verizon WiFi , am elsewhere online right now.

Many Thanks and Happy Labor day to all. .
Thanks for the info!

Customer Impact requires Geo Verify for one of their shops. SeeLevel recently had a shop that required it.

ath and Technology Store Shopper requests it.

GeoVerify uses GPS to establish locations. It is not uncommon for GPS signals to be weak or non-existent inside malls, airports and some buildings. Or if you are in the shadow of tall buildings in cities.

I think that if GeoVerify finds your location on a map, but can not get a code, that it will eventually get a code once your WiFi signal is strong enough. I haven't tried that, but I think it will work. Please let us know.

Went home and tried it with my Verizon Fios WiFi, and still no luck....so it looks like I need to restore my $15.00 data plan next month which will pay for itself with mandated Geoverify shops. You learn through trial and error....
Consumer Insight requires GeoVerify as well. I haven't ever had an issue with using it at our mall, kalfani. Maybe you should delete it and redownload the app?
Geoverify requires the GPS to work and that is all. Set your location while outdoors and make certain that the GPS is turned on. I have a shopping phone with no data at all. In fact, I turned off 4G as it was eating battery much faster and forced the phone on the legacy LTE network that still has great coverage here.

A data connection (WIFI or phone data) is used to populate the map data of the APP and is required to generate the code. You can do this AFTER you have returned home and connected to your home wifi even hours later. It will just say "Generating code" until you return home and then it will generate all of the outstanding locations at once based on the time stamp inside the phone and the GPS at the time you generated the tag.

This works worldwide, including GPS data locations in the arctic circle and at the supreme leaders palace in North Korea. winking smiley
There are very few companies who absolute require it any longer. It helps but it is not required.
