9.99 fee to get rated by Mystery Shopping company

So I saw that the following company Satisfaction Services, Inc would for $9.99 rate you and you will also have first access to the shops. Does anyone pay any MS company?

No, no and no. Yes, I have done shops for Satisfaction Services without ever having paid them or anyone else to shop. From comments on shopper forums it would not appear that I was denied their "best" shops and I still found them overall uninteresting (as in cheap) to work for.
Do not pay, not needed and from one who has been shopping for 10 years, my opinion is this is a great way for them to make money from a newcomer......a company that has to ask a shopper for money is not a company you would want to sign up with. Shows how desperate they are, just saying.....

They offer a service, it is not required and they rarely promote it. Maybe you know; Is it any different than the MSPA selling certification levels implying their registered MSC companies will offer better jobs?

No, do not pay. There are numerous companies. We are providing a service for them. Grest question!

There you go, for free. It will mean about as much as the $9.99 version
To Whom, LOL. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I don't normally edit the forum. But yes, Cindy, that's actually better than the $9.99!

This particular one, Satisfaction Services, is NOT a scam. However, there is no need to pay the $9.99. You can register and get shops WITHOUT PAYING the $9.99. I have done many shops for Satisfaction Services over the years and I have never paid the $9.99 fee. This is a reputable company that pays when they say they will pay. Their reports are reasonable and they have some clients I really like. My advice would be to sign up with them but NOT pay the fee.
I don't need to pay to get rated. I just do my best to get a job done and I get my rating. Satisfaction Services used to contact me for upscale shops in Toronto and they were usually the rush jobs. I did them for a while but I noticed that they never gave any bonus but kept on offering that $9.99 for rating. I NEVER paid for that.
Edited for typo.

They are NOT a scammer but there is no need to pay when you can use the free list of locations.

This is a legitimate mystery shopping company with an "optional" $9.99 charge to get on their "preferred" list. I signed up years ago, did not pay the fee, and still have many assignments available.
All the fee stuff aside, is it worth it to be certified? I haven't gone that route after 2 years of shopping and still seem to stay busy?

The $9.99 is not a certification and it only applies to this particular company. And I don't know anyone who has paid it. I do shops for them without ever having paid anything, like others who posted above.
