Another LOW this time from Alta360 Research

This is my first post. I've only lurked here for about a year so please be nice. I just received an email for a drone shop. You will receive an increased pay of $8. You will have to ask 6 questions and I'm not sure if there is narrative involved (probably just a guess). You will also have to take 5 pictures and upload them. There is no added reimbursement.....nothing....just the wonderful experience of asking 6 questions about drones and taking pictures. I'd make more money at a minimun wage job and googling for information about drones at the same time. Just venting......I hope all of you hold out for higher paying jobs, because there are plenty if you look for them.

Can't beat their $4 gas station shops!

This shop is straightforward. You are given the questions to ask and at least 4 of them are "normal" questions that any customer would ask. For the pictures, I just pulled out my phone and asked the salesperson if it would be a problem if I took pictures. Of course, he said no. Five clicks and I'm done. The report is primarily Yes/No (more accurately, Left/Right--they want to know which direction you go to find the display after walking in the front door; is the product to the Left/Right of the competitor). There is no narrative and I don't recall if there are comments, so if there were comments, they were short and simple. The shop plus report can definitely be done in less than 25 minutes.

It helped that I was looking into this product anyway, but for me this shop was a cinch. Give it a try! You might find that it's a fun shop.

Like most merchant shops at this popular retailer, the requirements are simple. The fee is similar across MSCs and clients for the 15 to 20 minutes total time spent. Please take the time to ask about and discuss opportunities before creating a subject line based on assumptions. You can fix the subject line.

I reported this shop on the MobiAudit app in the store as I went. I did it for the base fee ($7) and the total time was about 15-20 minutes. That's $21-28/hour and was done and reported before I got to my car. That's a winner for me.

This is exactly why the "don't take low fee shops" argument doesn't work. I love shops like this: no muss, no fuss, easy money.

I agree with isaiah58 and meghan9262 100%. I teamed up this drone shop with a CPU shop at the same location. I performed both shops in under 20 minutes on-site at the store. Both reports were easy breezy with no commentary unless you need to explain an unusual situation.

I say let the low-hanging fruit haters hate. That leaves more easy breezy shops for us!

Actaully not a bad shop..... easy for the money. If you want to pay the mortgage no..... if yoou want spare change for easy work piece of cake!

If you are driving by the store, or it is only a few miles away, this is an easy shop. The salespeople do not mind you taking photographs, and even encourage it. The report is simple, as others have pointed out. I did them at $7. There are still a lot left in my area, but too far away to do even for $8 unless I am on a route and passing by the store.

Great insight. Utilizing the various apps like Gigwalk and Mobi all of us can increase our profitability by stacking or multi-tasking shops at same or near by locations. I need to remind myself to check these apps more often, seeing I am registered on a few.

I wouldn't read the directions for $8, but to each their own.

The conversations about small fees always reminds me of the song "It ain't the meat, it's the motion."

It's not just about the size of the fee. It's what you do with it that counts!

I find that once I calculate the gas, time spent reading the instructions and taking the cetification, time parking, and everything else these shops are not worth it for $8 even if they are done on a mobile app. I also find they never take 15 -20 minutes when it comes down to it. When I focus my time and energy on hiigher paying jobs I can spend less time working and more time with my family and kids. Oh I forgot to mention I live in Calfornia and it's not cheap. I will continue lurking.

I agree that if anyone is not willing to understand how easy it is to read the simple instructions and integrate these types of menial shops into your schedule, then avoid them like the plague.

Kind of interesting that not one person that has any experience with these shops has anything negative to contribute. The negative posts are all speculators, uninformed opinions. Maybe reverse psychology, they want them all to themselves?

Isaiah i have now read some of your posts....you are quite the neagative nelly and a bit paranoid.....but hey.....in california there are some quick and easy $8 drone shops.....not to mention the great gigwalk jobs of $5 or less. AND there are also some quick and easy cell phone shops that just got bonused by 50 cents. Hurry!!!!! Wait my favorite gas station shops on Marketforce that were $9 just had a price increase to $8 (yes you read that right). There are my hot tips happy drone and gigwalk shopping Isaiah.

My daily rate is $200 plus expenses and per diem.
I would need to do >25 of these to achieve that rate in one day. Mileage is not included nor is food.
So, maybe 35 in one day? Figure 3/hour due to travel time between locations. My time is better spent elsewhere.

I did a simple $30 + $50 job in less than one hour in the same mall. Very simple. I don't waste my time with $8 jobs. Period.

socalmama i aspire to do that kind of work. and i think by only taking higher paying jobs i am on the way. hey i will take your leftovers and still be doing better than these $8 jobs. If all i care about is a $5 gigwalk then i might as well apply at taco bell and get benefits with a matching 401K plan.

@lamol, yours is not to judge. I perform many high-end shops but they take longer to perform and longer to write the heavy narrative reports. Since I work a FT job with 10-hour days, I do not have the time or desire to perform high-end shops every day. By doubling up on two less expensive quickie jobs at the SAME location on the same date with a report of only radio buttons and photos, I can easily perform those jobs during my lunch break.

I'd rather make $14 -$18 in a total time of 30 - 40 minutes (including drive time and report time) then try to rush through a high-end retail shop on my lunch break and still have to write a detailed report when I get home from a long day.

So instead of judging, do what works for you and the rest of us will do what works for us. I don't do FF shops because I can't even stand the smell of that type of "food" but many forum members live off of FF. They should be happy that I don't do FF because that leaves more shops for them.

@lamol--------->Just because this is your first post, then perhaps You should be nice. To each his own. While you dont want or have to take the LOW paying shop someone else may. like too or want too. MS is a luxury job. (We acquire luxury items as well as comprehensive reports to the business retail world) Most MS'ers, mystery shop because we want to, not because we have too.. If you are going to take SCM leftovers, well some of them are the low paying jobs (which are too low for you

SCM has worked at her craft to get where she is, she makes her decisions

and her shopping area may not be as saturated with shoppers as some other areas

So... typically I'm chill with nature... but a family of hornets has moved in on our transformer... and by family I mean a nest the size of a beach ball with thousands of the pale faced jerks. I've called AEP fifteen times or more. I need my internet hooked up at my new place for work and Suddenlink cant do their job because AEP's pole is infested with hornets. It's as round in diameter as the transformer they're stuck to... and as it's AEP's pole, Suddenlink isn't supposed to mess with it.

AEP has assured me for 3 weeks they would be out to take care of it... THAT DAY. Nada. I keep getting the run around... The landlord has called, the neighbors have called, it's still there. Of course I took photos

Summing it up... suppose I could fly a drone up there with a can of bee spray attached or some sort of apparatus to begin the demolition ?

Let me interject some simple math. If on a $200 route you identified and performed two extra gigs, thats roughly a $10 bonus. Now consider your regular day to day activities. You're at your regular grocer or retail store and spend 3 minutes snapping a pic or two then clicking a couple of questions. You can add at least $500 a year to your income passively taking these assignments on; litterly not interrupting your plans.

Not one person that performs these has suggested to make a route of them or to go out of ones way to perform them.

I do add extra jobs to my $200 day gig but they're not $8 ones.

MobiAudit's one of the great reasons why I've changed my view completely with ShopMetrics.

At this point, ShopMetrics may be my favorite platform for MSC's to use these days.

While I don't mind going to the SASSIE and Prophet sites, It'd be an added benefit to the shopper if a mobile version of the sites or an app can be developed for the shopper.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!

You can have them. We each choose our own shops; these won't be on my list for $8. My location will get bonused, and quite heftily. For me, this isn't a "I'll never do that shop" but more that the compensation isn't enough at base rate.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.

I haven't done any yet. I personally want to wait for them to go up but if I was already going to be in the area I might consider picking one up. I'm not going to be near those stores anytime soon, though. They've been sitting on the job board untouched so maybe in a week or so I will send an email inquiry about a bonus.

My first post here as well. I also did a drone shop for them and the report wasn't bad (about 3 narratives), but still not worth my time. However I had 2 other shops assigned to me that I did, but when I went to fill out the report I found that the report was very long and required about 10 narratives. All these for $8. One shop was a flower shop where I spent $16.19 on roses. They are supposed to reimburse me up to $15, but the flower sop don't have roses for less $15. So I put this company on my "do-tot-shop" list.

The drones are now $9. Maybe they will increase them enuff where we might be able to afford a battery that goes in them.
