Newbe

Hey, Flash.....I tried everything over thursday, friday and saturday. Nothing worked. Sunday I stayed away from the computer, and cleaned up the rain debris in the yard. This morning when I got up about 7am, I logged on and I got a new message that the micros wasn't enabled. It took hours for me to be able to check my emails or anything else. Here's exactly what happens: Shoppers critique, login, to the shops I've applied for, click on the shops, click get guideslines, and then adobe screen comes up (gray screen, with nothing on it) then a little box comes up with a message "The licence agreement was not accepted. The application will now quit." And the screen does nothing unless you hit exit. So I told the techinan exactly what was going on and he said accept the agreement, DUHHHHHHHHHH, I was so irritated. I have downloaded Adobe many times, I have went to the control panel and tried to fix the program. I emailed Adobe and they haven't gotten back with me. My computer does this on every site that uses Adobe. That is why I didn't do the right thing at the shops last week, remember? It was only giving me some info. Now the computer is acting crazy, Everytime I go to Yahoo, it says "Unexpected server response. The HTTP response has an unexpected code. HTTP Status: 12007 Text unknown, No HTML was present in the HTTP server responce." I guess I will put it in the shop, the lady who fixes computers out here says it takes a week to get it back, she is so backed up, a week is a long time!!! I get evrything off the computer, recipies, news, weather, talk to yall and my family. Maybe I have a virus? The last time I was here (in the forum) everytime I would hit submit whatever I wrote would disappear.

Jude, Hey, I did, I went there, Adobe and went through all the F and Q. Nothing seemed to match, si I emailed them. Maybe they will hit me back.
It might be a virus though I doubt it. Do you have a virus scanner on your machine? If so, run it. Did you uninstall Adobe? (Start/Control Panel/Add and Remove Software and take it off that way. Then go right click start button to Explore/Program Files folder right click the Adobe folder and delete. Empty your recycle bin as any files manually deleted will have been sent there. Reboot your computer and then try to download Acrobat Reader again either from an MSP link or from the Adobe website.)

AVG has a free antivirus software for personal use that is available at [free.grisoft.com] You may also want to pick up Spybot to remove spyware from your computer at [www.download.com] It is also free.

A routine maintenance schedule on your computer to:

1) run spybot
2) run antivirus
3) run Disk Cleanup (Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Cleanup)
4) run Disk Defragmenter (Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter)

Will help keep your machine responsive.
If you have a reasonably large drive these processes may take some time, so usually I set up the next process in "the cycle" when I am going to be away from the machine for a while--to fix dinner, do a shop, work on something else etc.
I did all those thing you said yesterday. The computer started working really good for about an hour , then it started shutting itself down over and over again. This is the first time it has let me go to My Mail directly, for the past 15 hours or so it has sent me to a different address than the one I click on, Now porn is coming up.....great. The Error Smart company you suggested cost 20$, do you have it, is it any good?
Error Smart? I have no idea what that is and perhaps your computer is sending you to the wrong places due to a virus. The antivirus I suggested is at [free.grisoft.com] and is a free download. Watch your URL bar to see where the machine is actually taking you. From the behavior you are suggesting it really does sound like you have a virus so make sure that you are very careful that anything like disks or thumb drives that you have used in your machine get 'disinfected' when you disinfect your machine so that you don't harbor the problem on them or carry the problem to another computer you might use.
Pop ups everywhere!! I ready to kill this computer!!! If I can I will try again. The grisoft.com my screen is freezing, I gotta type fast and go or it will disappear.
Definitely warn the repair shop that there is a good chance there is a virus present. They may have a virus program that will run remotely on your machine or directly from the CD drive. Good luck.
WOW, I'm back, I really thought it would be a long while before I was able to get back. We called DELL last night and they explained to us how to erase the motherboard, so we could start over. Now my computer is naked! So today I will be here downloading all my stuff. Thank ya for Techinal Support. Now I can get back to shopping for profit!!!!
So Far So Good, Is anyone out there having problems with yahoo? Thier Q and A answer page said the problems should go away after reinstalling Java, and i did and its still not working. I can talk with yall and check my emails but nothing else, delete, reply, move or trash. I have been doing this stuff for hours,I need a break. Hi Flash smiling smiley
The only part of Yahoo I use is the finance.yahoo.com and there are no problems there. I suspect, however, that you are talking about Yahoo mail.

I am assuming that tech support had you reformat your hard drive and then reinstall from the backup software files on the D drive (or wherever they hide them). This should get your machine back to where it was the day you got it. Any software updates, new programs installed or settings you have made since you got it will be gone. That is what truly becomes a PITA to patch up. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may want to go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab and scroll down to make sure that your Java box is "enabled" with a check mark.
Nothing, I figured it was me. I just recieved yall's emails......something is definitely fishy. Maybe its my BB connection? I will try that. Bye yall.
I did as you said and I still have 104 spam and 60 emails??? My eyes hurt I need a nap. Dell xp service pack isn't in the system, so I tried to install, but it requested a number that I don't have. My old man has always done all the installing and I have done all the interactive stuff so I guess I will wait on him. I'm not real patient, so I say I will wait, but I've been right here trying to figure this out since 5:30am. Holla at ya later, bye, Flash
Good grief. 104 spams? Does your email provider not ditch them after a couple of weeks and/or have a decent spam blocker? I use separate email accounts for my personal stuff and my MSing. I then have a third account that I use for signing up for things like contests etc. and give to friends who insist on sending me jokes with huge lists of recipients. Those lists are frequently 'mined' for live email addresses to spam. That account is likely to have a couple of hundred spams but they die automatically after 2 weeks without my intervention. I am very pleased with the spam blockers on Gmail. They do a great job of letting through the stuff I want and I see no more than 1 or 2 spams per week.
I clean them out about 3 times a day. Thats one of the reason's I was so desperate to get Yahoo up and running. And of course MS jobs are pilling up and I am ready. I got one from pinkertoncompliance@cipinkerton.com for foreclosures, that are being auctioned. My neighbors home is being auctioned off saturday, which is really not necessary for this conversation, the economy is so sad. But anywho, they are hiring people to show the houses. Thats my kinda gig!! I did a job for Cadillac back in 2000, that was basicly the same, talk, remember, socialize, pass out flyers. I really hope they call me back. Does this site have live chat or just the forum?
Ouch! Let me suggest that you try a Gmail account at least for your mystery shopping activities. You can get an account free at [mail.google.com] It is searchable to find key words, it allows you to but tags on emails (rather than schlepping them off to folders) so you can pull all your "Jobs" or "Sign Ups" or whatever categories you have used. Trash gets automatically cleared once the old emails get to be about a month old. You have an enormous amount of space (I have about 3600 emails that relate to jobs I have accepted, signups, payments etc. and that uses only about 4% of my available space). And in the past month I have not seen one spam, yet I have gotten all expected emails.
I would look real stupid if I asked do I have to go and change my info. on all those MS companies. sad smiley lol
You would and possibly reestablish your Paypal as well. That is why it is better to have a good email account at the beginning of your 'career' rather than a year or so in. A lot of folks start off with the email they get from their internet service provider (like AOL) and if/when they change service provider they get to go make all the changes then before their (for example) AOL account gets shut down.
Hey, It seems that everynite when the computer is cleaning and reseting itself, it somehow looses my login information. Then the site won't except it. Well after the past week I don't care..........the computer works. Shadow Shopper sent me 50 listing of jobs in my area, and they all have been filled. Boooooo, I have filled out 10 more applications today.
Flash, Do you know of any good companies that have alot of jobs down here in the deep south? I haven't left the house in over a week. My old man thinks somthing is wrong with me?? Is it just me but, why leave if ya can't make any money while your gone? I'm saving up!!! lol I really like being at home, we pay alot for our house and therefore I want to be here. Right??? Hit me back yall. I guess I got to leave, the dogs need to eat.
Jude Are ya there? I signed up with Mintel.......yeah they have many jobs!!! Uhhhh, I am a little unsure about the jobs, I emailed the scheduler but she hasn't gotten back with me yet. Maybe you can answer my question, Why does it want me to ask the tellers for deposit or withdrawal if I dan't have an account with them? I have requested any jobs yet, I don't want to screw it up. If I wait till tomorrow to accept will it give me an extra day to do it? The jobs are about an hour away, and being banks they aren't going to be open on the weekends, I don't want to push it....I guess I could do 2 tomorrow and 3 monday. What do you think?

PS Thanks for the hook up!!!
Well anyway, Mintel has great jobs if I was/am a customer of there banks. I should switch, then I could make killer money. lol C YALL Tomorrow.
