Subway Revealed Shops?

Are they as fun and easy as they sound? I'm reluctant to take one, even with the decent fee, because in the years I've been shopping, I've never done a revealed shop.

I was reluctant to take any, not knowing how they are. And someone grabbed every single one close to me, But There are a couple still up that I can grab on my way to other places.

Folks who have done them, how do you feel about them? Thanks!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

Wish I knew who did these in order to answer you!
Edit: Found them the hard way, the shop just must not be in my area. But know to check them more often now!

I have done these for several different MSCs over the years, and they were fine. I have seen ones posted recently, but they are not close enough for me to consider doing. My suggestion is to accept one as a test. My favorite one was a few years ago when I did a mystery shop where I ate, then it became an audit of sorts where I measured the length of counter with a tape measure, counted the spigots, and did a few other things. Fully reimbursed plus $15. Once I announced myself, I was out in 5 minutes.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Sounds easy. I did one a long time ago as a total mystery shop and have never seen it again.
I remember that one @myst4au. It was fun and different. I did a whole bunch of them, two per day on the same trip and brought home sandwiches for supper. After a while the significant other asked if I planned on ever cooking again . . . Amazing the number of Subways there are out there still today, but there were a whole lot more of them then.
which MSC is offering them? I did some for (MSC name removed) a couple of years ago....

Mod notes
- asking for other members to name the MSC is asking them to break the Forum rules and probably also their ICA
- linking an MSC with its clientele is probably breaking your ICA and is definitely against Forum rules

I did one revealed years ago (before I knew better), and no, won't do anymore. Judge for yourself, I personally can't stand the food, and the whole giving an award for suggesting an upsell (or whatever). Pointless....

Live consciously....
I didn't know they were back. Yes, I thought they were very easy -- except when you failed someone and they cried. The rate per hour was high (assuming they're close). I'll have to wade through my list and try to find them again.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
If these are the rewards shop, I did a bunch of them when the deadline was getting close at the locations in the city where other shoppers are afraid to go, heavily bonused. I'd do four or five at a time on a route and take dinner home for the family. Easy peasey. If the employee didn't make the proper upsell, just do the normal observations and go. If they did, give them a certificate (always love handing out the rewards certificate), take their picture, and go.

proudly shopping in the D.
I'm NOT asking for the name of the MSC, but what platform does the company use? I haven't seen this shop.
snoopy, several companies have done this one over the years. Lately it is has been a company that has their own proprietary software (not Sassie, ShopMetrics, etc.).

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
I recently signed up with the company doing these revealed shops in Canada and am surprised how low the pay is. I'll pass on these unless they start bonusing them.

I liked them.

I'm on vacation for a couple of weeks...right now I'm poolside doing a hotel shop with a late checkout...gotta get ready and go soon. Sigh.

I'll be back home in December. Maybe they'll have some on the board when I go home!

Sometimes I'm too shy to do revealed shops and sometimes I love it. It depends on the day. There was one shop years ago where the worker was so grateful and sweet. I made her day and she made mine. It was quite a joy. So it's worth a try once. If you don't like it, don't do it again.
I don't mind them but they only pay $10 here. Plus reimburse the sandwich. I have to print out the certificates though - 2 per location and 2 per location for if they don't succeed (but those don't use much ink at least)
I would not like to have to tell them they didn't succeed and luckily haven't had to so far.
$10 pay plus sandwich isn't bad. They have so many of them around here I could make a nice route. Hope there are some available when I get home!
I love these! There are Subway shops on nearly every corner in Montreal. Yes, they only pay $10 each + reimb. but I can knock out quite a few in a short amount of time, putting my rate at $30-50/hr. Plus, I get to bring home the subs and give out extras to my neighbors or to the homeless kids begging near the highway. I print the certificates in B&W, low ink.

I've only had 1 unpleasant experience where the owner kicked me out of the store for asking for a receipt. There was a power failure after I had ordered and he put up a big fuss of having to write out a receipt. I was paid in full for my visit but will never return to that store again!

I think the program is slightly different in the US than the one in Canada.
I. Never thought they would accept black and white for the certificate. Good to know

If I remember correctly, you must have a b/w printer to print b/w. I used to have a colour inkjet, and could only print them in colour. I now have a b/w laser printer.

Kakita are you saying you couldn't print black and white with a color printer? That's odd. I can print black and white with my color printer by going into my properties and changing it to grayscale.
I did that and the settings stayed that way when I rechecked, but the printer still printed it in colour.

You can download the certificate without having a shop scheduled. Try it.
I'm on vacation and do not have access to a printer...I just know whenever I've wanted to print in black and white for a color doc I've had no problems doing so.
All I know is that I had every setting set to black & white and/or grayscale. It still printed in colour. But like I said I now have a black & white printer.

Never heard of a Subway Reveal?? It's it for upselling ?
About 3-4 years ago, I did these shops for Truss Communications and it appears they skipped town since I never received payment for my final group of shops. They still owe me close to $600! At the time of the challenge, I checked this forum and learned that they had skipped out on paying other shoppers as well. The owners of that company also had a tendency to close down their operation and resurface under a different name. I think the Truss Communication group was in or around Hickroy, NC. If the current subcontractors are in the same area, I would do research to confirm their identity and steer clear if it is suspicious.

Maryland Shopper
Not sure who I did these for, but I do remember that they were easy and the report did not take very long (I know it wasn't Truss, since I haven't heard of them).
