So who is getting/upgrading to an iPhone 4 for shopping?

The features are great. We are getting our new phones in the store on Thursday.
The WSJ wrote up their tests this week, and it seems to do what we users need it to do, unless you live in an area such as NYC, that has too many ATT users. For me, here, I have no issues. Although I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to the new OS last night, I still await the new features of the 4. Oh. and iphone OS4 FOLDERS rock. We needed those a year or more ago.

For me it is the Android operating system; dual processor, lighting fast. HTC Incredible.
I skipped the 3GS upgrade waiting for this phone to come out. I am more than ready to give the iPhone 4 a spin. I have used my 3G constantly for shopping. Interesting side note: Did anyone else get the survey invite from Market Force? They asked if you used a Blackberry or iPhone. They then went on to see if you would be willing to look for, perform, or report shops using the phone. Sounds like somebody might be working on an app....
Hooray! After a short store visit tonight to get our reserved phones, but a 4 hour delay in getting the phones activated, we are up and running. I know that both Steve and I use iCal as a major means of tracking our jobs and payments. I thought I would let folks know that I recently found a $30 app that has a 30 day free trial that will let you import calendars to it, then export them as tab delimited fields, among other arrangements. I tried it out using iCal from my Mobile Me account sync to gain data I had lost on a spreadsheet when I had two HD failures inside of 6 mos. of purchasing my macbook pro. So I highly recommend this, it cost me $30. I have been able to snap together a lot of data from iCal, though not all columns, without separate entry into .xls, but just a carte blanche entry.

I just got a Droid a month ago. LOVE IT! I've compared it on many forums and seems to be quite similar to the iphone, if not better. I don't plan on ever switching! One thing is Verizon service and coverage is the best in my area and they only offer the droid. Apple's loss I guess because I'm sure a lot of Verizon customers would buy the iPhone if they could.

I have a droid and while I like it - now that TMobile is offering iPhones, I am considering switching too... but I don't know, I am kind of a techno-phobe, and just cannot handle too much change at one time. I need to get a new laptop (me and the current one just have never bonded)... and that means having to deal with switching all of my "STUFF" over to a new laptop - hard to also contemplate a new phone too right now.
Tmobile is offering iPhones????? We had T mobile for 10 years, and left to get iPhones. I am totally bummed to hear this. We gave up a great clause-when we got Tmobile they were coming out of a rocky period in HI, so they had this clause that said you could cancel any time no penalties. ANY time. So, they stopped that in 2004, but we were grandfathered into the clause, and it worked well for us as we could sign any two year contract and not be locked in. But we gave it up in 2009 Feb. For the iPhone.

Sorry - I miss-spoke. TMobile does not yet offer the iPhone, although "apparently" they will be doing so very soon. I could have sworn that they were starting in June but I just checked and it looks like not yet... But soon... but they have been saying that for some time... so who knows. Sorry - I should have verified before I posted!
I miss Tmobile.

Tmobile really really hassled us for leaving. It was tough to get them to cancel. In the store, we had to talk to the "leaving save them" team via phone, and they finally said, "That REALLY is the reason? You just want and iPhone?" Yup, we just wanted the iPhone. Honestly, I have not had any personal issues with ATT, but they are open less hours for customer contact than Tmobile, and needless to say, they will not give us a break if we cancel. I have to say, I LOVE the new iPhone. I used it today for a shop I really love...Get paid $50 to walk the beach areas of Waikiki for an hour (we stayed two!), take photos, and talk to 4 people (specific types of people.) Its one of my favs, behind surfing lesson compliance shops where I sometimes get the free $112 lesson, and fine dining.

The phone I love as well. Really excellent pics with the 5 meg cam, and I always got great ones with the 2 meg it had before. Plus the display is SO crisp, and I have not had any issues with the "holding the phone wrong" antenna issue some great number of people are having.

I got it but did not do it. I started it and left it as it seemed as though they were just rooting for info for free. However, I actually completed one in May about something or other since I was on the computer when it came, and it offered a GC for Amazon if you were one of the first 15 to complete. I got the certificate and it took less than 5 minutes, and the info they wanted for that one did not make me feel as though they were just looking for free MR data.

I do use my phone to look for jobs and to start reports, though. I hope some better paying MSC's might make note of the phone for reporting. :-)
