Chipotle Shops

Dear Shoppers, about Chipotle; my email said I would get paid $21 and would be required (with no reinbursement) to buy food worth $4.50. Does this sound fair for the amount of narrative in the survey? Signed, Night Owl at 12:13 AM

The MSC doesn't reimburse you for the shop. You get a flat fee of $21. The less you spend, the more you make.

I think it's fair. I enjoy the shop. I use the bowls for lunch during the week. My weekly grocery bill is cut somewhat.

Sounds fair to me. There's actually not a whole lot of narrative in the survey. It's an easy shop and an easy report.;
rofl, I have 5 shops this month. Since there are only 4 Sundays before the 25th, I will do a shop during the week. That shop will be a rofl taco!

It's doable, but not feasible for me to do a dinner shop. I asked my scheduler if I could do one of the five locations on the last Sunday of the month. I do shops on Sundays and take the bowls to work for lunch. She agreed!

After I picked up the orphan, I was assigned another shop making it 5 shops for April. I'm not sure how I will swing that since I do my shops on Sundays.

I guess I will have to treat myself to rofl tacos midweek!

I need to do the training so I can do the shops ! I love Chipotle and go there 2-3 times a month.
The training is well worth it. Have you signed up for the next training in your area?

I have four shops assigned this month and have only completed two. I could probably squeeze out one more before the 25th but there's no way I can do two.

Also, is anyone else having trouble purchasing the kids' chips? My last shop refused to sell them to me.

? i have not done one of these shops. I must wonder: did they think you were odd, in denial about your age, or intending to bribe a kiddie with chips instead of candy? Were there insufficient kids' chips? Should they have been kindly and appreciated your noble and brilliant portion control efforts? ? Do tell. grinning smiley

I never tried the kids' chips...I don't see them on the platform and haven't bothered.
It's not odd for an adult to order kids' chips. It's a smaller portion.

This is what I was hoping for... I like to learn about places that support the idea of smaller portions. Once, I was not mystery shopping and wanted a little something to eat.. I ordered a kids' meal, because there were no options for smaller portions in the adult menu. I was glared at and scrutinized, as if the order taker might find fleas, prison tattoos, or worse... yikes!

Not sure I understand, but if you are thinking off cancelling the fourth shop email your scheduler and ask permission to do the last shop after the 25th. I have done this numerous times and it's never been a problem as long as I get it done before the end of the month. I believe if you shop on the last day itself they may want the report submitted the same night.

I've always seen "before noon on the 1st" but it can't hurt to be a few hours earlier.
With all of my shops, the reports are submitted the same day. When I asked the scheduler if I could do the 5th shop on the last Sunday of the month (4/30), she said yes, and told me to make sure the report was done by the next day.

You have wiggle room, eye!

When the chips are stale, how do you describe them? I know we can't use the word "stale."

Since it seems people get glares and negative responses when they ask for kids chips perhaps this should be the question of the month. (Are you paying attention Chipotle client?) Unless of course they have a disclaimer on the kids meals that you must be under 12 like lots of other places do. I believe the reason most places do this is because you get a pretty good price with kids meals at may restaurants and they are making less money in order to accommodate the kids. I have never ordered kids chips myself nor have I ever seen an adult eating the smaller bag anytime I was in Chipotle. For that matter I rarely see any kids eating there either in my market.
I order the kids chips because they last longer than the full sized chips. Go figure! Also, they are less total calories.

I've shopped six locations and only one has sold me the kids chips.

I'm really getting tired of them telling me "We don't have any" or "We only sell kids chips with kids meals." If I weren't mystery shopping, I'd make a big deal out of it.
eye, you should make a big deal of it in your report!

I always order the kids chips. One cashier just mentioned that the large bag is actually a better deal. I've visited suburban locations, so maybe that's why the kids chips have been available. There always seem to be families with young kids (6-12 age range) eating in the dining room when I'm there. Are the service counters/food prep areas clean when you visit? Lately, it seems the crew members don't bother cleaning.

What is fair for one person is not-fair for another. As I tend not to accept shops with under a $15 net fee (and generally not under a $20), I am not keen on the Chipotle shops. But I manage to do a few each month just because the people at the MSC are nicer than at some other MSCs. To me the most difficult part if eating the food - which is tasty by Chipolte standards - but not by mine. But others, as have posted here think the fee is fare and the fare is good.
Their food tastes good to me, but much better the next day. Do you eat your food the same day or do you spread it out over a few days?

I think in another thread a former editor said to call it hard and crunchy instead of stale.
hard and crunchy is not the same as stale. Stale is stale. I always use stale, the editor can change it if they like.
Thesaurus.com has a bunch of synonyms, but most of them aren't a good fit. Maybe dry or hard?

The chips did not taste fresh.
Hopefully, you are all paying cash. News just broke that their payment system was hacked from March 24- April 17.
