Bank shop help

Hi shoppers,

There are few $15 bank inquiry shops by an MSC. They are about overdraft liquid card etc. I have never done a bank shop before. I would appreciate all the help I can get before signing up for it.

Non customer shop. How do i syart the topic? Would it be in the scenario?
Thanks..

The key is to have your scenario down before you go in the door. With the liquid cards, the easiest is to say you have a kid (or grandkid) in college, and you don't want to give them a semester's worth of cash up front.. Sometimes these say you can say you saw an ad for the product, othertimes not.
Hmm, the shops I'm thinking of starting pay is usually 9.50 (I don't generally take these till bonused to almost $20). The scenarios options and opening line are given to you by the company I believe. You just walk in and tell the banker why you are there. "I'm doing a kitchen remodel and I'd like a prepaid card... do you have anything like that?"

For the liquid card, I usually go with kitchen remodeling scenario, I've used the vacation one but the banker always has too many questions about the trip. KevinE, I don't remember Kid in College as one of the options so maybe we aren't talking about the same job. The write-up is easy compared to other bank jobs but you don't get paid unless you see the banker and that can take over an hour at some sites.

Don't forget to get a business card, even if it's not the person's that helped you.

With the Liquid Card, I generally use the vacation scenario... "My significant other and I are about to go on a road trip and want to have an easy way to keep our expenses in check..." These shops are easy and straight-forward.

Note: There are some remote locations where the bank branch may not have a banker available or where they only meet by appointment. Before driving a long distance for one, you might want to give the bank a call to see if they will have somebody there. I learned this one the hard way.... Though the MSC, after discussion, to their credit, did pay me anyhow.

These shops are easy and straight-forward. Just make sure you write the date and shop number on all your artifacts before turning them in.

You are right..the base is 9.50.. bonused now to 15. If it goes till 20 then wow..

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it.
Your scenario is included in the guidelines and what to use for non customers and current customers. The reports for their bank shops are one of easiest to do the reports. If the banker that you interacted with tells you that they are filling in at this location does not have a business card, ask for their co-workers' business card and ask the banker that you spoke with to write his name on it. Or if the banker brought his current business card from his previous location. You can explain what happened in that section of why the person's name on the business card does not match with the banker that you spoke with or the location was different.
I love these shops because they can be fast and easy to complete. It does become frustrating if you have to wait for a banker, but I have only had a long wait once so I still take them. In that case, I simply left the bank, finished my route and swung back that way at the end. It worked out to be a good enough payday!

Good luck! Catgranny and others gave you great advice.
Get an ATM balance from your bank, which is free. This works better than if you can't get a business card.
Read your Guidelines, the scenarios are there. Make sure you still get the name.
I had a lot of fun on about 6 of these. Wish I coulda-woulda done more. I was actually looking for a new bank too and I'm debating on going back and signing up for the $55 bonus my local area had. They may have sweeter deals next year, too, though.

I don't take one until it reaches $15. January is up to $15 so I'm signed up. With the MSC I have a time frame to complete them. A visit is not sufficient. You must talk to a banker. If you go through the conversation with a teller, you will not get paid. I did one where the teller answered all of the questions that a banker would. She checked with the banker who told her. When she gave me her card, I asked about opening a Liquid card today. He came out to the lobby and spoke with me. I went through the scenario with him. Both did not tell me of the restrictions.

I wrote as clearly as I could. I revised it three times indicating that yes, I did talk to a banker. I included the bankers card. In the end, they rejected it. I am still waiting for them to respond to my complaint. I have files of the original report and all the revisions. I am waiting to see if I get paid.

Another caveat. Two years they had problems in the late winter/fall. had a bunch of phone calls that needed revision, 6 of them (i performed 60 that month). I would revise and submit, then got an error message. They did not go off my to do list. Phone calls were not returned and I could reach no one. I lost $36. They have not repeated this error since, but I am leery.

Another MSC handles their shops, and will bonus them. However I've picked up $15 shops on the original MSC that are $9.50 on the scheduling MSC. However at the end of the month there was crazy $60 shops. It's cheaper than when the MSC bonused. I regularly did $25-$30 shops, and more than 5 a month.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

guys, but if someone comes to assist me, and they are the teller.. how do I tell them I need to see the banker?

confused smiley got my scenario but I hope the banker speaks to me and not other employees. :/

Any more tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Most of the time, say 9 of 10 times, when they walk up to see if you need help they'll ask what you're there for. When you tell them you wanted to see someone about opening an account, they'll usually tell you where to sit or whose door to knock on. Some of them will even walk with you and introduce you to a banker. Only once did I have a teller start to give me information instead of seeing a banker and I thanked her and told her I was actually wanting to see about opening an account up that day. She quickly had me in to see a banker. I actually thought about opening an account at my last one because it was $50 with ANY amount of direct deposit in the first 90 days (I could easily DD a mystery shop companies payments) and an additional $5 to sign up for online banking and paperless statements. That coulda made out for a $15+$55 shop for me. I may keep that in mind in the future smiling smiley I still see a few on the boards.

Another thing I've used is watching the banks in town as I drive in, and I've told the teller that I wanted to talk to someone about opening up an account before I went to see X name of bank. They seem worried your business is about to go away so they'll tell ya that they can get you in to see one of the bankers in a jiffy.
