Get these all the time and have yet to do one. $35 for two seems awfully chintzy. My DH will order so much more. Location is not that close. Maybe I would do it on my own if closer.
That's awesome!

I'm going to get a country fried steak and a cab! I will have lunch for Thursday and Friday!!!!!

Nothing. Its just that simple. I got steak cuz I wanted it.

I do not know if the belly up to the bar requires a 11 ounce hearty steak or a partner, You only get $25 to belly up to the bar. I can not take the shop because you have to be younger than 65. Maybe they are afraid if you are 65 or older you might fall off the bar stool and hurt yourself. Texas Road house if you are looking at this. I am curious. Why can't a shopper over 65 do a "belly up to the bar?"

I didn't realize that they wouldn't let you because of age, phd. That's just wrong. I took my mom to a few bars more than once when she was in her 70a and 80s. She never fell off though I've seen a few 20 somethings fall on their arses more than once! Email the scheduler. Sometimes exceptions can be made. You don't have to order steak and you are allowed to fly solo.
Nothing. 45 minutes? Hunh. I was never told in the past that I had to stay any particular length of time.
Those are the only requirements in my guidelines, that you have to arrive between 5pm and 9pm, stay for 45 minutes, and order no more than one alcoholic drink.

The reimbursement was probably lowered because shoppers can take advantage of the early specials.

While sitting at the bar I initially was concerned about the 45 minutes.

Personally, I was served promptly and would have been out of there in under 30 minutes. The bartenders were more focused on getting drinks out and keeping the area stocked. I bought an extra 10 minutes eating peanuts and feigning interest in a sports show on TV. Finally the bartender checked on me and I accepted the offer to check out. The report does not ask about service times. It does cover observations related to drink handling, preparation, and carding patrons that appear to be under a certain age. The staff there does not rush guests. I assume their methods result in larger checks per guest so they do not worry about turning over seats quickly.

I love the TR shops!

But I got caught once (though I have no clue how). My receipt had *SHOPPER* next to my name! I let the MSC know. They still accepted my report, just told me I could not shop that particular location again. TR are the only reimbursement-only restaurant shops that I will take without a second's thought.

I did my shop today. You all were right, the report was straightforward.

My screw up: I had a very light, low calorie breakfast and lunch because I knew I was going to inhale a third of a country fried steak. Dude next to me put his bucket of peanuts between us so we could share them. I filled up on peanuts. I ended up bringing everything home. I'll still have lunch for the rest of the week, so that's good.

WHen I can for the bar ones I look for a seat where I don't see the peanuts , or yeah I can eat a good share too. My problem is they always ask if they can bring me some bread. YEAH YOU CAN. And it goes fast.
Isaiah---They won't care if you don't drink alcohol, pleanty of single diners sit there. Can't remember off the top of my head what you have to observe at the bar--so it mustn't be that bad! smiling smiley

Tex, I was good, I didn't touch the bread or the butter. There were no peanuts at my bar stool. The dude next to me shared his, and I couldn't be rude.

From reading all of the Texas Road house reviews I noticed that the Guidelines are different in some locations.
1. I must have one or more guest with me. (my husband and I)
2. I must visit the restaurant for 1 hour. (I keep a small pad of paper in my pocketbook, track only timing.)
3. I have to order two entrees, one must be a steak. (Wild West 11oz $11.99, Road Kill $10.49)
4. I can order two beers. (Coors Duke $3.99 each) their special.
5. I do not have to order an appetizer.
6. These come with a nice salad and a baked potato and rolls.
This still comes in my $35. range Total $32.59 w/tax, tip $6.00=$38.59

Just my humble opinion, but I think disclosing such specific client requirement violates the confidentiality clause of the shopper agreement that registered shoppers with this company signed:

"CONFIDENTIALITY. I agree not to disclose the information requested by a client during a Shop or the identity of the client or client locations at which I provided services."
shopper8 WAY too much info.... I hope you got approval to post the info..... Most do NOT want all that public..
What MSC handles these? I don't do nearly as many shops as I used to, but this might be worth checking into.

(An MSC) does them I do a lot of work for them. Have fun

Mod note: Linking an MSC with its clientele is a violation of Forum rules and also probably a breach of your ICA
The shops in my area are taken within the day, some within just a few hours of posting. I have done many of their restaurant dinner shops, but I do not qualify to do the bar shops because I am over 65. I don't know why as I see plenty of senior citizens "bellied-up-to-the-bar." We would not look out of place! Sometimes, those shops hang around for awhile. "We seniors" could eliminate the bonuses they have to pass out to the young'ins. BTW, I think their business would go up if they got rid of the peanuts. They are messy and the shells on the floor are not safe. I cannot believe they have not had one "slip and fall" lawsuit! On the plus side, the food is always great, especially the steaks, and a couple of ear plugs are cheap and go a long way to prevent a headache!
Don't say the MSC in the same thread as a client. Please edit your post.

I don't think peanuts prevent people from going.

....so you quoted her, along with the ICA violation? Looks like you need to edit, too.
Did you ever find out who does Texas Road House? Tried msjobboard, jobslinger and mystshop with no luck. I know you can not name the MSC, but can you direct me to another site like jobslinger etc that might get me nearer to closing applying for TRH jobs. I am rural so there are not a lot of SS available, but TRH is in our area. Thanks

et tu, Shop-et-al? What is it with the ICA violations? Does nobody realize quoting an ICA violation just perpetuates the ICA violation? Is this a game to make work for the moderator?
