Five Guys price increase

I just did my first Five Guys shop of the year and was surprised when the total was not the amount I expected. Apparently the prices went up recently. I used to be able to get all of the required items for just under the reimbursement amount if I got the Little Fries but with the increases and tax there is no way to do that. Going forward I will consider the higher prices and add a bit more when they call offering bonuses.
I was wondering if this was nationwide and if people more familiar with this MSC think there is a chance they will increase the reimbursement amount.

i would assume so beef is usually nationally priced... the five guys shops in my area are being snapped up pretty quickly... last year me and my ex gf would wait until they bonused it twice up to $10 for shop fee... now it sits at $6 and is gone pretty quick... no worries.. they can have it at that price

i never buy beef at the grocery store... chicken and pork are so much less expensive... and has been that way for a long time

Yes!!! I haven't shopped them in a long time, and I picked one up for December and I was shocked by how much the prices went up. I bet it was at least $4 more than it was a year ago when I last went. It's smart to consider this when picking up shops. I am letting them go to other shoppers.
Is there a new MSC doing Five Guys? I have not seen any on the board of my regular MSC since December. I know we can't mention names, I will search on my own if there is a new MSC. Thanks!
No change of MSC. Lots on the boards here in Massachusetts. Maybe they pulled you out of the rotation or something?
The last five guys shop i did it for $30. Probably gonna have to raise my rate if prices increase.

Prices fluctuate. I think they went down a little in my area. The base reimbursement covers a little burger, little fries and regular fountain drink. Adding cheese or bacon, or larger sizes, puts you over. I do not like the hotdog or other entree options.

I am called regularly to do this shop with a healthy bonus. I'm just not a fan of their food and guessing Im not the only one. As for prices, they were spendy last year here in Washington state.
I actually had a lunch scheduled today. Yes, the price has increased by 8 cents since my last shop in mid November. I was still able to stay under the reimbursement. I am more upset that my BOA CC has lowered 5 Guys cash back from 10% to 5%.
I did a shop in December when I had a taste for a good burger. I got the Little Cheeseburger, Little Fries and a regular drink and stayed under (just under) the reimbursement.

I guess it's not national so I won't expect to see the reimbursement increase. I wish it only went up 8 cents here, for me the regular hamburger went up $.80, the drink $.20 and Little Fries up $.50. not huge money but percentage wise a decent increase. Looks like if I get the Little Burger I may be able to come in under the reimbursement by a few pennies, a healthier change too. I don't do them without bonuses but I will factor in the price increase and use it to negotiate when I get the next call.
Check your credit card offers also. Both mine are giving 5% back.
Price will also may very by location. Mall locations also have a higher tax rate. I ordered the same pizza from 2 locations 10 miles apart and paid $7 more at the downtown location.
I noticed it in the city nearby, too. I ordered a little cheeseburger burger, little fry, and little drink. It was over $13. Luckily, the shop was bonused to $25 and tolls. I keep watching for bonus on them again but someone is doing them for the small starting price.

No noticeable price change for me. But WOW at the bonuses some of you have mentioned! I'm lucky if I see a $2 bonus. Even if they linger on the board awhile, ultimately they will disappear before a bonus has been added.
The ones I've done I usually get the little cheeseburger, little fries, small drink and am usually a few cents over the reimbursement. And I've noticed prices are different at shops not even 20 miles apart where I shop. So I've just looked at the 5 Guys shops as a flat fee shop.
And they hardly ever get bonused here either. There's a couple that stay on the board quite a while, but those are right at the outer limits of the radius I've set in the one direction of travel I almost never go. So they wold have to offer a nice bonus for me to do those.
Hopefully though the MSC will raise the reimbursement allotment.
The local prices where I am (LA) haven't changed as of last night. That said, after seeing that their burgers get a grand C or C- on Fooducate, I wait until they offer me (or I demand and get) a $20 payout. And even then, it helps to have a sacrificial lamb go with me to accept the arterial damage.

They were getting snapped up around here for a while, but I've done three heavily bonused shops in the last three days. No idea if it's the time of year or what.
A C or C-? They must be competing with In-N-Out.

I noticed an increase, too, but I recently moved to a new area, so I thought it was a regional difference. Also, the tax is higher here.
Yes! The prices increased where I am too. If I get a BLT, I can stay within the reimbursement rate, but if I order a hamburger, it goes over now. I have done a ton of Five Guys shops, but now I only do them if the pay rate is double digits.

May I ask what company? Mod note: No, you may not ask which company as this would require the responder to break the ICA and also violate Forum rules

Unsure if you're being serious or not, but it's a violation/breech of our contracts for us to tell which companies shop which stores. We can talk about the companies all we want and we can talk about the shops all we want but we can't mix the two together. Now, we can talk about types of shops that companies do. For instance, I can say See Level grocery style shops... and most folks who "know" know. *shrugs* I just try to keep my info brief and usually folks can help me out, regardless since so many here are experienced.

Did one today and my total was a lot more than normal. I was thinking "Crap the prices have gone up, MSC really needs to up the reimbursement."
It wasn't until I sat down and was observing the kitchen when I realized I forgot to say "little" That kinda makes a difference.
Also made me realize I probably need to be a bit more focused the rest of the shop.
On a side note, I finished that meal 10 hours ago and am still not hungry again.
I did this shop recently and stayed under the reimbursement but I got a little drink, burger and fries, I noticed if I would have gotten a bigger size of any of them I would have gone over...

No need to be rude just because Pua wouldn't break forum rules and violate the ICA.
I haven't seen one of these in my area for so long, and I would love to do one! I'm checking the board two times a day!
