Credit Card Payment Shop

I signed up for a credit card shop. In the description, it stated I would have to make an online payment on the due date and complete a report on the experience. I applied for the job, and was assigned today. Reading the instructions, I learned that I would be expected to look for the cut-off time on the due date and make the payment AFTER the cut-off time. They agreed to pay any associated fees.

My problem? I never make late payments. In fact, I was nervous about making a payment on the actual due date, but late? On this particular card, I decided I could not make a late payment since I have a 0% promotional rate as long as I pay on time. I asked to be removed from the assignment.

If the scheduler asks me to accept another assignment for another of my cards that is not on a promotional rate, I'm still extremely apprehensive about making a late payment. Does anyone know the consequences of making a late payment? Will it be reported to the credit bureaus? Will it lower my score if I make one payment late?

I have accidentally forgotten to pay one of my credit cards where I actually have a 0% balance transfer. I called Chase and they offered a refund of the late fee and any other fees. One late payment should not be reported or lower the score but it depends on the bank. My experience is that they forgive one late payment if it is not more than a day late.
Worst case scenario is that your interest rate will go up, any promotions you have will disappear, and you will get a ding on your credit report.

The likely scenario is exactly what sitotw described.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.

There is a high probability that you will lose the promotional rate. I think there is a guideline that banks follow that they only report to the credit bureaus after the payment is around 30 days late only. And that usually occurs after the next billing cycle has closed (i.e. payment still not made after the next cycle has closed). If the payment is made after the due date (late) but before the cycle closes, then the account will be current at the time the billing cycle closes, which is what is reported to the credit bureaus.
