Buffalo Wild Wings report change-Heads Up

They didn't mention this is the guidelines or the "Comments" area, but they require a GeoVerify code now. Doesn't show up till you open the report form. I really wish they would tell us these things in the e-mail or the actual guidelines.

IIRC the report has always asked for the geoverify code with the caveat 'if you have it' or something to that effect. I have always left it blank in the past with no issues. It has been a few weeks since I've done a BWW so perhaps things have changed recently.

It's mandatory now. At least it is for the report I tried to do today. I have to go back in the morning for the code.

You have to get the GeoVerify app and use it on your phone.
Weatherman, GeoVerify codes are date-linked, so unless you are redoing the entire shop (and thus changing the shop date) it won't do any good to get one in the morning. When you put it in the report it will flag it for a wrong date. I would see what other POV you have and contact your scheduler.
It's not technically written in the guidelines. I informed the scheduler and she stated she would get back to me about it.

From her response, there does not appear to be any indication of GeoVerifying your shop being a new requirement.

Geoverify is an app that shows your location and the time you were there. It's sometimes required for shops that don't have a purchase requirement.

I did one on 1/23 and my report went through just fine. I did another location on 1/26, and it stated I needed to enter a code in.

Can I do this on a tablet? And is it available in the Google play store?

I have seen them but never used them either. I do them all the time without them

Most mystery shops can be reports on tablets and smartphones without much hassle and a little learning curve on what works best on what device.

I geoverify automatically for some MSC so there is proof that I was where I said I was, when I said I was. They can't dispute the geoverify code. In particular, those shops where you have to be on location a certain amount of time. I then have the time stamp on my last picture taken, as proof of my end time.

I want to be sure I understand this!!

So when I do a BWW shop again I get the Geoverify on my tablet. Before I go in I turn it on and write down the down the code and put that code on my report.

I hate to take any electric device in with me if I am doing a shop or just going out for a nice supper with the family or my self. I do have a watch for my timings and stuff. When I eat I like to have a device free supper.

Yes I know BWW has TVS but that is different.

Thanks
You don't need to write the code down. It's stored in the app until you delete it. When you do the report, open the app, and retrieve the code.

I have the app on my phone and always use the app in the car before going it. The app will store the code and you can email it also.
I just checked my report for a shop tomorrow. It is the same as before, nothing different than since they removed the annoying checklist for each employee engaged. Still has "If you have a GeoVerify Code enter it here:"

The warning after submission has always been there, saying you forgot it. It is a soft warning. Sometimes I use it, most times I forget.

I did my first bww shop earlier this week. My shop required geo verify. I do it for all of my shops on my own accord. It helps me track my time.

Did it state that in the guidelines or anywhere in the shop comments, or did you assume that because your report won't go through without it?

The system wouldn't let me finalize my report without it. It wasn't even noted as "required" anywhere in the requirements or on the form, it showed up after I tried to submit. Maybe they're having some system glitch. One would think the receipt would be good enough.

I did e-mail the scheduler and the support e-mail address saying I would have to go back.
I always forget the Geoverify! Sometimes I remember when I am getting back in my car. Even with it noted on my cheat card, I forget. Once I forgot to take a picture of the store on a "glasses" shop. Made my husband take me back at 3:30am to snap the picture. I had to buy him a Krispy Kreme on the way home! smiling smiley

Okay, following up for everyone. I did NOT get a GeoVerify and had a similar issue with getting it submitted, for my 1/26 shop. The scheduler stated she would look into it with tech support. Just checked my shop log and the shop was pushed through and received. I think it would be safe to conclude that GeoVerify is NOT a requirement for BWW shops.

It is a form of proof. Sometimes you will see multiple forms of proof beyond just the receipt, which could be the request of the MSC's client.

Yes this is why I start my reports when I'm waiting for my food. I just did one last week and saw they want GeoVerify now

My recent report requested it too and wouldn't go through as well, but was eventually pushed through and accepted. Hence, it doesn't mean GeoVerify is required now, as it's not anywhere in the guidelines and no comments to me about it from the MSC from this last report.

I submitted mine last night and did not have to put in the geoverify. It went through without any problem.

Almost all Sassie MSCs ask for a geoverify code but nobody "requires" it! You can still submit without it. People without a smartphone would not be able to write reports at all if they "required" it.
