Hotel shops - reimbursement (NOT reversed charges)

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any MSCs who do hotel shops that get reimbursed (vs reversing the charges on the credit card)? I would prefer to get reimbursed for the stay instead of having them cancel the charge on my credit card.

Agreed. I have had it go both ways, though the majority of shops are reversal.

I find that the lower-end (2-3 star) hotels will tend to offer reimbursements more often since the bill is not as large, but if you are doing the shop for CC points, that's not as helpful.
I would also add, based on my experience, less than ten percent of my hotel stays are reimbursement, and I prefer it that way.

I'd prefer not to float thousands of dollars for a hotel stay, waiting for reimbursement which could take up to 90 days, preferring instead for the charges to be simply reversed, hopefully a few days after the report/survey is accepted.

Sure, I may miss out on points, but I also don't have thousands of dollars at play.
Agreed! Reimbursement also keeps a lot the financials between you and the hotel management so you know they have seen and accepted the report when you get the reversal.

If the MSCs offered reimbursement on the high-end hotels it could tie up really large payments for an extended period and potentially push a lot of payments that we don't necessarily want to see reported as income though PayPal. I had over $40k in hotel reversals in 2016. I would not want a 1099 from Paypal with that kind of income on it...
