Would You Complain if Company Paid You $1 Less for Shop that Was $20+?

I had this happen to me. It feels a little cheap of me to ask for that $1, but they did underpay me by $1.

lol.

Would it give you a bad rep amongst the schedulers to contact them asking for that $1?

No. I would do it upon principal. I have been known to go back in the store when shopping on my own time to make an adjustment of 37 cents that I was incorrectly charged. Any amount of a discrepancy should be addressed.
I think there is nothing wrong with following up to correct the error, if that is your preference.

Personally, I wouldn't consider it worth my time, unless it were a recurring thing with the MSC. I would just write it off. I know sometimes I am paid a dollar or two extra. It all averages out for me.
If I liked this shop and MSC and planned to do more shops like this I would want the payment amount clarified for future reference. In that case I would discuss it with the MSC. If it is one and done, I would let it slide.
I had one payment short something like 40 cents once. I didn't complain. I remember which company it was and if it ever happens again, then I would complain. It hasn't.
Happened to me once and I let the MSC know. They said they would reimburse me the dollar. They didn't. I let it go.
I negotiated a job and when I checked on the site after it was assigned to me I noticed she put.50 cents less than agreed to. I was going to just let it go for the same reason.
Just thinking .... and I may be totally off-base, but you have said you are a new shopper. Is this the first time you have been paid by this company? Are you sure they shortchanged you a dollar? The reason I ask is that some companies charge a fee if you do not use direct deposit. For example, Stericycle charges 3% or a maximum of $1.50, if you use PayPal instead of direct deposit. Second to None charges a processing fee of $1 if you use PayPal instead of direct deposit. There are a few others that charge fees. Not saying that you weren't shortchanged. What company are you talking about?
I would not "complain" but I would contact the scheduler to make sure the payment was correct.

Discrepancies, rather large or small should be acknowledged imo.
I would ask to make sure I did the shop correctly. A simple question about whether the MSC deducted one dollar because there was a problem with the report would be appropriate. Some MSC's actually do this.
In my spreadsheet I have a column for comments and I will make a note of the underpayment and that I contacted the scheduler via email on xx date. I keep careful accounts and will report most discrepancies- maybe not a few pennies but $1 for sure. It happens and they need their books to be accurate too.

Good point about them needing their books to be accurate too, jb.

I'm going to contact them.

Good point.

I'll have to ask them about that!

Can't state the company, b/c don't want to potentially violate my ICA. But even if it's allowed, I kind of don't like the idea of bringing up who it was.
If it's a company I routinely shop for, I personally would not bother. However, I would make note of it in my spreadsheet and if it becomes commonplace, then I would bring it up.
