Helping friends become shoppers

I've told a few relatives and coworkers about the mystery shopping world, but, once they are faced with the needed "hustle", they back off. MS'ing is not for everyone -- In my opinion, it requires savvy, lots of leg work, organizational ability, lots of online reporting, basic clerical ability, internet know-how, paperwork handling, and patience (slow paying MSC's). It's just not for everyone, and I'm glad I'm part of a network of very talented and savvy individuals.

I don't tell anyone about it anymore either. The few people I've advised have never signed up with exception of one. And she complained because she almost cashed that scam Western Union check that someone sent her. I give them all the caveats I can think of: it's not full time, it'll seem like a waste of time in the beginning, get an EIN, you'll get spammed and someone will attempt to scam you. Every time I get the complaints on the very same things I just warned them about. Were you not listening?!
I've even gotten to where I can't take people with me to restaurants, so I don't even accept those shops. It never fails, it's 10 minutes before we go to an upscale place and they're in jeans but we have to go anyway. Can we order extra this? I'm like: you will pay for it. I'm not going over the reimbursement or using the fee (if there is one) because you gotta have an extra side. I could rant on for that one.
I have told my mom and my best friend, who are both supportive. My SO is also supportive of me working without having to pay for childcare. My best friend is happy for me doing something I like, but isn't interested in it for herself. My mom took some of the names of companies I work for and signed up with them (mind you these companies were my favourites, hence why I mentioned the company name). She did a few shops, but I guess she wasn't able to make it profitable. Yet when I tried to refer her to a company that I do very little work for, and were begging for a job I won't do, she either didn't sign up or didn't apply for the job. Even when a car dealership bonus got up to $500, which is when it was snapped up by someone else (I think she was rethinking her stance when the bonus was getting that high).

I wonder why I'm still getting calls about dealerships from those companies?
