Remind me never to do a Coach shop

My husband (who is also a shopper) did a Coach shop last night. He was at the computer for over an hour. I then looked at the report. Approx 100 questions, plus long narrative and several short narratives. He was cursing and I don't blame him. $15 fee. No purchase required. Just a heads up for those contemplating these shops. I'm glad I didn't sign up for one!

I have done several of them. As with any shop, the first time one does a report it takes longer. I too spent about an hour. But on the future shops, I pushed the reports out in about twenty minutes each.
He said that the msc has odd requirements, such as you can't refer to the sales associate as he or she, only "they." You have to describe different things with various adjectives but can't use capital letters at the beginning of the sentence. I was bummed that it only paid $15 and that he didn't buy me the $600 purse I've been drooling over LOL

I recently did this shop for Coach out in Scottsdale, Arizona. The form was a little bit long, yes, but I found that it flowed logically and the report for me personally was not that hard to put together. I've done this shop before, though, so that definitely plays into this. I liked the man bag I picked out to linger over for awhile and raise an objection about - I really really really liked the bag until I looked at the price - $550!!!!! Too rich for my blood I'm afraid. I wouldn't mind doing this particular shop more often but this client's prices are for the birds.
I love some of the Coach bags. I thought about trying to "earn" one by doing Coach shops. I calculated that it would take just a few dozen shop fees to pay for one bag at their price point.

Once, I saw Coach bags in a locked case in Sam's Club. I assume those were the real deal and that the prices were not for second quality bags. I did not get one of those because...

... Hours later, I found vintage Coach in pristine condition and in my comfort zone in a consignment store. That did not require any shop fees or club memberships.

I did the Coach outlet store shop. The report did take awhile to fill out but was overall easy. From time to time, they have special sales at their Coach outlets. I have an outlet mall center that is within a 15 minute drive. I avoid going on the weekends because of the tourists. The outlet mall gets very crazy on the weekends.
I have done Mens Coach shop with its current MSC. The report is not bad but much longer than the previous MSC it was with which was purchase and return. I also was able to do the Regular (Womens) Coach shop with the previous MSC but the current does not allow it. This sucks as they are right next to each other at one outlet mall in my shopping area. Always ask the current MSC for a bonus on this shop. I get $60 for them now. When they were easier with the old MSC I did them for $12 or $15(easy and bunched with other shops in same mall). Also the rotation is now like 6 months and they won't normally waive.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
So I did the coach shop today and I am happy to report that the shop is an easy shop...15 mins in the store and 15 mins to enter. Easy peasy! Two thumbs UP!
I have also done this shop recently. Wasn't too bad and I paired with something else in the same outlet center.

I saw the same shop elsewhere but a bit further away. It was bonuses to $30. I would have asked to do it for more this weekend, but too busy with hobbies.
I have done the Coach shops at various locations but with the same current MSC at least 5 times in the past couple of years. I do remember when I did the first one that the report seemed to go on and on forever and I was extremely frustrated with the time I spent when I realized what I was making per hour.
I can tell you that each one after that I knew what to expect and asked for a reimbursement that made it productive for me. And they do get easier. Now the report takes me about 20 minutes, and I still always request the higher reimbursement. The MSC is great about agreeing to what I ask for.
they haven't offered them in my area lately.... Sort of miss them they were easy to do a year or so ago ... not so many questions. Not sure if they changed MSC or not but maybe that's why it's so long now.
I haven't done one in years. I recall it was a purchase/return shop, and with a Sassie company. From what I remember the report wasn't bad, but they've since switched companies.

Wowww.. thanks for sharing..hope that works with me smiling smiley
I have done both outlet and regular retail, for bonuses up to $45. But I will ask for more now!

The reports, yes, I find to be excruciatingly long; hope I'm hearing that they've been changed. I like the outlet shop itself better, because I'm always the only customer in the regular retail store and it takes forever to get out of there. In the past when I did the required purchase shops I resold the items, so I maximized my profit. Next time I would purchase a sale item at the outlet, and keep it for those "high end" retail shops with other MSCs! A day late and a dollar short.
