Schedulers are held accountable for shoppers. If a shopper flakes, guess what? It's the scheduler's fault (even in cases where the shop is self-assign). When I first started, bonuses given to shoppers were taken from the schedulers money, and there were quite a bit of locations that were difficult to fill, so it was difficult to have to take money from your own pocket and give it out.
Scheduling is thankless work. There were several times I would take on extra work to help a company meet it's deadline. Supervisors showed little to no appreciation.
As I said, Kelly Truelove was different to work for and appreciates all of her contractors, including schedulers and shoppers. If only more companies treated people as she does, this business would be in a better place.
Shoppers, schedulers and even editors are considered a dime a dozen and expendable by most companies.
Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.
Not scheduling for ANY company.
