What's your grossest moment on a shop?

I was doing a burger shop today and I went up to a ketchup dispenser only for air to come out and a bunch of little flies flying out. I'll pass on the ketchup today.

I was doing a gas station audit and the bathroom was one of the old style that you had to walk around the side of the building to get to. I opened the door.......and there was crap (literally) everywhere. Walls. Floor. Toilet. Looked like someone had smeared it with their hands. And the stink. OMG.

I didn't even get any of the required photos. I took a pic from the door and let them figure it out.

An apartment shop. Everything about it was pure nasty.

Driving into the place, there was graffiti everywhere. Guys hanging out at the playground, or what was left of it, drinking. The only green lawn was in front of the leasing office.

These were garden style apartments with an entry door and a patio on the opposite side. I went to the entry door of the leasing office. It stank of new and old urine.

I went to the patio, and realized that was the entry. The agent took me on a main path tour, pointing out the amenities as we stepped over meth pipes. The fitness center had crime tape on the door. I asked if I could see the laundry center. She said no. I didn't ask why not.

There was crime tape on several doors, including the one next to where we were going.

Inside of the apartment, they tried to cover the stench of weed, body fluids, and something bad with a Plug In. It didn't work.

I went through the motions of the shop, but I couldn't wait to get out of there.

The agent called me a few days later to ask if I was still interested. I said that I wasn't. She asked why. I told her that place was too hard times for my taste.

My report was objective and professional, but I told the scheduler that I would not be doing any more of her apartments.

I changed my mind when she offered me an apartment with a nice bonus and an ocean view.

I was doing an oil change shop and my partner was "enjoying" the free coffee, until I noticed ants crawling in and on the creamer and sweetener canisters. I quietly picked up his cup of coffee and threw it in the trash. He looked at me like I was crazy and I just shook my head. Told him on our way home why I had done that.

Shopping central Arizona.
Saw 2 roaches scurry across the floor at a restaurant after I finished eating. I went to use the restroom and there was another dead roach.

Did an audit in which I had to evaluate the restroom. Opened the door and there was literally a trail of feces leading from the door to the stall.

That's not just gross or nasty. That a straight-up disaster of a shop. I wouldn't have a problem with doing other locations, but I would need a pretty heavy bonus to ever go back.
ETA: And I grew up in the rougher area of my city. I can tolerate a lot, but your shop sounds plain insane.

Grossest moment is when I ended up wearing the fallout of a dumping garbage truck when MS'ing a landfill. I ended up covered with white powered asbestos and looks more like frosty the snowman when I got out of there.

Uhhh... Landfill shop? How is that a thing?

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
I told the scheduler that I wouldn't work with her again because she described the property as "beautiful."

There was no reason for me to go back. Even when the other apartment MSC offered the same location as a shop, I quickly deleted the request.

The spouts to the zillions of great beer there. Flying gnats all over them. The strong stench of urine either on your way to or inside. This goes for casual and fine dining! Gross.

I had a gas station like that. Someone wrote "Jason Wuz Here" in straight crap all over the wall -_-

Oh this wasn't writing. I'm serious. It was spread over the entire room. Like I'm fairly certain this was more poop than could come out of one person.

BGriffin,. I would have passed out. I have to hand it to you and others. The restroom is my biggest phobia. No gas stations or any other threat of a gross restroom for
me. I am about to give up some casual dining shops due to that requirement.
I mean... what possesses someone to grab their own poop and take to artist graffiti on the walls? 0_o Among other weird things, blood, razors, and once-- a freaking home HIV pee kit?!? Strange things in bathrooms. I wasn't even aware there was an HIV pee test?!?! Thought it was blood work only.

OMG, if I had run into some of these on a shop I think I would have retired long ago. Especially the BGriffin special and Honey's Apt shop. I did come across a sh...t hole like BG's once but not on a shop. The worst part was I really, really had to go.
A few years back landfills around here were indeed getting shopped, they were checking to make sure customers were being sent to the correct zone for various recyclables and being charged the correct fees for disposing of various sized bags of trash.

I never shopped a landfill but I shopped the recycling centers a few times. They still do come up sometimes on a popular MSC that uses their own software. They specifically say that you have to have at least 3 bags of cans I think it was (I can't remember the amount exactly but you had to have a decent amount to evaluate the customer service at the stations). It was a pretty easy shop and paid $20 plus any money you got from your recyclables.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Being at a restaurant (doing a shop) and the toilet had a major overflow and maybe some other issues. I dunno.

But that brown log that came floating down the aisle in the restaurant, from the men's room, was too much! I quickly pulled my feet off the floor and the river carried other body waste to the kitchen.

And the staff? Never. Noticed. I kid you not. They didn't notice!

I suggested to another customer that they go tell someone what was going on...I waited and watched. The floating debris was NOT picked up. The employee got a "Caution - Wet Floor" sign and put it near the restrooms.

I have not been back!
I was doing a retail shop several years ago and the store had set out rat traps and one had wandered into the path of one. I almost stepped on the still alive, squealing, bloody thing! No, not a mouse, a rat! I reported the situation to management and can only hope they took care of it. I explained the situation to the MSP and they accepted my report, but I was removed from shopping that client. I didn't mind in the least.
