Is this a good find? Time share Shop

I'm still new to this Mystery shopping thing (less than a year) but I saw this assignment that I thought sounded fun. Let me know if this sounds legit or something worth

Shoppers are needed to evaluate a potentially FULL DAY long sales presentation/closing for a timeshare purchase. After the sales presentation, you will negotiate and eventually show interest in purchasing a timeshare. You will be asked to sign the initial paperwork/put down a down payment to allow the sales team to draft the contract for you. You will next meet with the Closing Officer to go over the contract and sign it to finalize your timeshare purchase. You will then cancel the timeshare purchase either the next day while you’re still at the resort (in person cancellation) or as soon as you return home (over the phone cancellation). You will be assigned what method to use. Some key things to note:
• For the purpose of this project, we are looking for:
o Married or co-habitating couples aged 28-68
o Who are US Citizens
o Have no pets traveling with them
o Live 65 miles or more from the resort o Married or co-habitating couples need to have a combined annual income of at least $50,000 to tour in _.
o Both spouses/partners need to attend the tour and must present valid Government issued ID as proof of matching addresses.
o Must also have a valid major credit card and/or a valid checkbook if necessary. Prepaid cards and reloadable cards are not permitted.
• To initiate this process, shoppers will book a specific vacation deal online at the designated resort being evaluated. The cost of this deal is approximately $139 - $199 for a 3 day/2 night stay and will be reimbursed (tax will also be reimbursed). Shoppers will be booking their vacations beginning of March, so the deadline is currently set for March 11, 2017. This will be changed to a later date in March once your vacation is booked but you need to let me know _ when in March you will be traveling. Please forward me the confirmation email from the resort showing the dates for your stay as well as the date and time for which your timeshare presentation/tour is scheduled. The vacation needs to be scheduled for March (the sooner, the better!). Additional days to your stay can be reserved, but we reimburse only for the deal.

• If assigned, shoppers will be paid $400 to evaluate the sales presentation/closing. Shoppers will receive $139- $199 reimbursement + tax for their vacation deal and they will be reimbursed up to $80 daily to cover basic meals during their travel to and from the resort as well as their stay at the resort. In addition, we will reimburse you for your mileage to travel to and from the resort at the current IRS rate of 53.5 cents/mile (capped at $300) OR reimburse you up to $300 for your airfare. Example: Reimbursement/pay: If you live 100 miles away from the resort you will be reimbursed $107 for roundtrip mileage, up to $199 + tax for your 3 day/2 night stay (depending on package choice), and up to $240 for 3 days of meals. Note: Please be aware that while you are out and about in _ you may be solicited for a timeshare presentation/tour. Please do NOT accept this offer under any circumstances. Doing so will invalidate the vacation deal you booked online, and you will be charged the full night’s rate for your stay.

If you're new to shopping, this sounds like it could be a headache without any familiarity with credit cards, time shares, hotels, airfare and travel, and so forth. If you're looking for a free/cheap trip, I wouldn't rule it out but this sounds like it is going to be complex and I bet at those rates they expect a helluv-a-report to go with it. I'd start out a little more slowly and get a little bit of experience before taking on something that could be quite complex. Not to down your shop or hopes of a good payday and vacation, but you may be jumping in deep without a life vest.

There are definitely hotel shops out there to be had if you can get your foot in the door; even casino's and cruises!

It sounds like alot of details are involved for the report. If it was me, I would not bother since I prefer not to do any reports that requires alot of narratives. Can you look at the guidelines and the report form to get an idea of what is involved? Worse case scenario, you might be a new owner of a timeshare or not reimbursed for all of the expenses involved if your report is not in an acceptable form.
Why don't you search the forum for time share presentations and find some discussions by people who have done this type of shop. I have done some hotel shops but nothing like this. I know they are done though.

Your title is not necessarily going to bring in the shoppers who have experience with this. Good luck!
In my own experience... Those timeshare people are relentless. I misunderstood something, thinking I had won whatever the heck it was (it was years ago).

They called me *very* frequently and from new numbers after I blocked the ones that had already called me. I had to yell and curse on the phone to get them to leave me alone. I had a sick family member at the time and had to keep my phone on loud at all times, and they would call me at 7am on weekends, throughout the workday, etc.

This shop sounds like a nightmare to me. I am told that once you go in for the presentation, the people are VERY pushy and it can get quite uncomfortable.

This deposit could be several thousand dollars and you will have a signed contract with your name on it stating you're buying a timeshare. Legally I believe you have so many days to cancel a timeshare transaction but that doesn't mean it happens correctly. I suggest you read this thread:

I wish I did a Timeshare shop when I purchased my Timeshare, long before I got into mshopping. We did enjoy using it for a few years or so but there is no getting out of it. It is an albatross to me having to pay the maintenance fees at times when I can't use it.

I would not take the shop if given the chance. It was pressurized selling and I remember doing some because of the free vacation offered. It was easy to decline because we already owned one.

I did not enjoy the experience. I doubt I would like to go through the signing and cancelling afterwards. Must be a nerve-wracking experience.
I did one a few years ago and it took 6 months and several letters to the attorney general of that state to get my deposit back.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

If you still have the timeshare and are trying to get out of it I have hear good things about timeshare exit team do a google search.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I am leary about any shop that involves signing a contract, making a non-cancellable reservation using my credit card (that the client will Get cancelled) etc. Just too much can go wrong...but definitely not on a $25,000 or $50,000 purchase!!
There are plenty of time share shops that don't have this scenario. You can go to the presentation and keep the gifts. Others give you travel plus a few days (or a week even) to enjoy the property.

No way on God's Green Earth would I fake-buy a timeshare. Too much could go wrong. See walesmaven's post. She's been around. If she had that much trouble, an inexperienced person should not even attempt that mess.
I couldn't possibly agree more. They would have to pretty much have to buy me the timeshare to get my signature on a contract.
