Woodforest Part 2 (revived forum)

I read some comments on a previous thread and was hoping someone who did the shop could shed a little more light. It cost $15 to buy the debit card, and it is another $25 to close the account out. Does the company reimburse these? It sounds like they do from their guidelines, but I didn't see anywhere to submit for reimbursement of those fees. I opened the account about a week ago and the shop hasn't been graded yet. The closest bank to me is an hour away so I was going to close the account on another round of shops in a couple weeks since I won't need the account. I already have three accounts/cards with mystery shopping, personal, and a paypal card. If we aren't reimbursed, $40 out of the original $50 make this a $10 shop and a bummer :/ but it sounded as if there was a way to get those fees back?

There should have been info in the guidelines, the scheduler gets the debit card fee reversed, and when you have emptied the account to $0 the scheduler will close it with no fee. Doublecheck the guidelines but emailing the scheduler will take care of if.
I did this shop last summer and kept the account because the bank isn't far away and I needed an account for just my mystery shopping income however Bookwormmom is correct and it is all reversed as long as the shop hasn't changed since I completed it. it was the shoppers choice in what to do with the account.
Email the scheduler when the fee is deducted for the debit card.

The shop is two or three parts (follow up phone calls after 3 and 18 days).

Also, you don't close the account, the MSC does.

It looks like there may be some minor changes to it but thank you all for the helpful info. My shop was a two part shop that required an in person visit to open account, ordering a debit card, and then a follow up call was to be expected the next day but no longer than 3 days in total. I sent the scheduler an email and hopefully all will be refunded soon smiling smiley If it were closer, I wouldn't mind to keep the account but the closest branch is a bit out of the way and I already have multiple accounts .

The scheduler is very good. Your debit card fee will be refunded promptly. After that (or after the specified time in the guidelines), email the scheduler to close the account. You will not incur any fees.

Thank you. I appreciate it smiling smiley I am going to use the account balance to pay part of my auto insurance this month.

clinen, don't use their Bill Pay. It sucks!

To zero my account before it was closed, I used their Bill Pay to transfer money to my account at another bank (like I was paying myself). I didn't get a confirmation. A week later, when the money hadn't left my account, I did it again. This time, I got a confirmation.

The receiving bank showed the transaction as coming through twice, with one transaction bouncing. I got a fee for that. I made Woodforest refund it, but it was worse than chasing payment from Cirrus.

The scheduler emailed me and said the money would be refunded. I figure it goes back to our account? I'll keep my eyes out for it and once it hits, I'll use my debit card numbers to pay good ole nationwide. Since the card will soon be no more, I figure it won't hurt to just use the debit card in that way to drain the account. My regular bank is a little local bank, but they have a great online bill pay that I like. Thank you for the heads up again smiling smiley

I was advised to just use the debit card at my grocery store to drain the account. No service fee; nothing that I have to chase. That was 2 months ago, so I think it is all a done deal.

Yes, the debit card fee goes back into your account. Do you have your email alerts set up?

I have 2 months of paper statements with no fee since I zeroed out the account.

I drained it out and have been waiting for the $15 credit so I can drain that too and have it closed out. If it wasn't an hour away, maybe I'd keep it but I have so many accounts as it.

Don't you have to pay for the paper statements?
