Video shop audio issue

I just did two short video shops with my PV-500 and notice that there is an intermittent low humming noise that makes it hard to hear very short parts of the sound track. I think that I see a tiny part of exposed wire right where the mic wire goes into the junction that then sends both audio and video to the recorder. Any opinions on whether or not this is the problem and if it is.... Dan the Man, can you fix this? If so where do I send it, please?
This is a pre-2010 PV-500; works like a charm; excellent video. This is the industrial strength PV-500.

Perhaps your cell phone was too close to it? I know that makes a hum in my computer speakers at times if it's really close.

Hm, no pun intended,
I will check that out. On these occasions I had the DRV in my slackes pocket and was carrying my cell phone nearby in a handbag. I will experiment with leaving the cell phone in the car!
Thanks!
