taking photos

Does anyone have any pointers of using a camera phone of taking discreet photos of a kiosk in a shopping mall without drawing attention to yourself?

I ask if I can take a pic of XYZ so I can refer to it later or show someone.

I walk around and figure out the best area to take the pic from, AFTER visiting them if that is part of the job. Preferably out of sight of the attendant, better if other people are there shopping. If you are with someone, they could lure the attendant to show them something on the opposite side of the side you are targeting. They are used to people taking pics, lots of people do it.

Why can't you just take the picture? It is a kiosk, how many people are standing around? I have a camera uR probably using a cellphone. How discreet is that? One should decide how to take a picture before arriving at the shop.smiling smiley
I sometimes stand far away and magnify the camera screen. Mine is the Note 5 and can magnify 8x. I take the funky pic of the desert tray at Arby's and the awkward Sbarro Mall shoots that way.
If there is an escalator nearby, take pic of kiosk while on escalator. It gives great overview of kiosk. Otherwise, be bold and just take the pic, no one will think twice. People will only take notice if you're acting surreptitiously.
As someone else stated, just take a picture. Everyone takes pictures these days for various reasons. After performing many wireless phone shops, I've mastered taking pictures with the associate right in front of me talking. They had no idea. Act as if you are texting and just take a picture.
I don't have a smartphone but use a digital camera. It's a Canon SX610 HS with 18x digital zoom. It takes great pics from a distance. I use the zoom up function to take pics. It also provides great details in the pics so it's acceptable on my shops. I would pretend to take a photo of the poster/billboard that was posted next the the kiosk and take the photo of the kiosk from there. Or you can stand from a distance to get your clear shot photo.
