They've gone too far

I had to chuckle this morning. I got a couple of end-of-month "scheduler desperate" shops offering "big" $5 bonuses. I live in California. Two were for shops available only on the East Coast. One would think the scheduler's email programs would filter these Notes of Desperation to shoppers who might actually do them. Anyone else been asked to travel 3k miles for a $5 bonus? (Naturally, the location is at the bottom of a long, long email.)

Yeah, I was asked to do a job in BC. I'm in TN. I said I'd do it if they'd pay for mileage. lol
Only if they'll throw in one of those very valuable "hero" citations! LOL

Not scheduling for ANY company.
Like New York being close to Nebraska because they thought the states are arranged alphabetically.

Her Serene Majesty, Cettie - Goat Queen of Zoltar, Sublime Empress of Her Caprine Domain
Nebraska is abbreviated "NE". Believe it or not, some schedulers think that means "Northeast", or even "New England".

Don't you hate that? Getting sent a long email for a shop only to find at the bottom they are not even in your state. DELETE. Just wasted my time.

people travel all the time. how are the schedukers supposed to know where every shopper is at any given time.

If they don't care then why ask for the phone area codes where we can shop? If I want to shop in the 202 or 808 I can put that in my profile (or change my search parameters for shops available where I am vacationing.)

i don't have time to change every profile when I travel. much less time consuming to delete unwanted email then change profile & change it back when I return from trip. if u have extra time more power to ya,

I applaud your ability to travel nationwide. I would assume that those who do routes also will take a shop anywhere, any time. But most of us are so inundated with emails that we would prefer that the schedulers be more mindful of geography.

I get requests for reimbursement only shops with a $3 bonus in Lake Placid NY. I'm in Maryland.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
I will travel anywhere at anytime unless fully booked for the right amount of money. I will also happily reschedule all my other shops if full booked to travel across country for one shop if they want to pay enough. $20k to go to Hawaii and shop for sunglasses sure I'm leaving on the next flight out.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I received a whopping $1 bonus offer this morning ... a candy bar it would buy me.

And just like dust, I will rise.
I get why they're email blasting, as they're hoping there's a chance someone's traveling outside of their area, but yeah, I know how you feel.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Are these the shops in FL and VA? I actually like it when they email me. I do travel a lot.

I had to laugh at the $50 bonus for OKC shops. I can do those, but won't due to somebody's bad attitude.

All the time, very annoying...I have written and asked to be removed from shops out of my radius (30 miles), and told then I wouldn't receive any emails...???

The bonus of a free tank of oxygen wasn't enough for you?

Good one...maybe a shop for Nasa, wonder what that would pay.

You will get a better fee from Elon Musk. He pays off in Teslas.

Hee Hee Hee: Just got a "No Offer Refused" email for a shop in either North Dakota or Minnesota. Is $25,000 too little to request? Is it still snowing in North Dakota?

Candy bars at Best buy are 2.59...but this is the Golden state.

Yeah, I got some emails with some $1 bonuses. Whoever wrote the emails was so excited that they even put an exclamation point after the "1". It made me chuckle.
I don't understand what the big deal is. I don't open 99.9% of the email that comes through my MS account. Most of them are off the board shops, I know what it is already, and I know if I have any interest or not. You can send me 18 emails about shops in Nova Scotia won't bother me. What DOES bother me is when they title the email in a way that makes it way more enticing than it is. Several weeks ago I got an email that said $75 bonus! or something like that. Opened it up and it was a $15 bonus on 6 shops. Uhh. No.

One scheduler who I wrote about this wrote back and said "Well, just delete it if you do not live or shop in that area". Enough said.

True. It isn't a problem for the scheduler.

We are really complaining about why we are being sent shops that are out of our geo area, But did you ever think that the scheduler might be your next door neighbor? The scheduler is committed to perform a job for which they were hired to do.

Most scheduler deals with databases don't they. So they really have no idea how far or close you are to the "shop" they are sending you. Many schedulers are also trying to fulfill their own online business. Nobody is sitting the basement of a Client company trying to keep its light on.

One way schedulers sale their "jobs, is by good wording. They also know if "YOU" don't take the shop, somebody has to They too are trying to run a business. smiling smiley
