How do you organize your paperwork?

Even if I did this 40 hours/ wk I would not make enough$ because the shops pay so poorly!

I have to disagree. My friend is new to shopping, worked two days last week and made over $400. This week, she did a 3 day route and earned over $400. She did 10 shops this week. They varied from opening a bank account and simple bank "inquiry" shops to assisted living visits. Her goal is to average $25 an hour for now.

She did shops for Marketforce, Intelli-shop, ctcss, Maritz, SeeLevelHX, and several other companies.

Granted, she had the assistance of an experienced shopper (me!).

But I didn't help her in any way that she couldn't have gotten the info herself, right in mystery shop forum.

I do realize that in some places, $25 an hour isn't even "living wages" -- but out here in the country, with low cost of living, $25 an hour is more than most people earn.

Sign up for lots more companies, and keep working at it -- the money IS there. But it's real work finding it.

Agreed. I work less than full time and make more than the average income in my state.

I keep an Excel spreadsheet with all my shops listed, including date, MSC, shop, fee, reimbursement, unreimbursed costs, and mileage. I keep 6 monthly folders where I keep all paperwork. After 6 months I'll toss extraneous papers and put the remaining receipts in a tax folder.
I have a spread sheet with columns Date the shop was performed, Date I got paid (very important if it is blank I know I got to chase someone) Location of the shop, MSC/Scheduler Shop number , Fees paid to me (could be taxable) Miles driven on the shop Tolls paid

I also keep a "gas book that tells me when I bought gas or services Date/ mileage on the speedometer /, name of gas station,/ Gallons this fill,/
DO DATE DATE PD $$ PAID LOCATION SCHEDULER SHOP # FEE $$ REIMBURSE MILES TOLLS

Every shop gets a 6 inch envelope Date of the shop and DAY/ address/ of each shop that day, Shop number, Fee and reimbursement, Time of shop. (if I have more than one shop during a day I can list each on the front of the envelope Name of shop, address, Time (in and OUT) and mileage at each stop

I amazed IRS when I was audited, All the papers/receipts were easily found. They found I OVER PAID and gave me money back! I still lost money as it cost mi time to prepare for the audit

I did my taxes and got every dime I paid in returned to me.

You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want ..Zig Zigler
I put tax deductible receipts in a folder and keep all other shop receipts and CPI's in a shoebox with the CPI's folded in half with receipts inside filed weekly to find easily if needed. I use an excel spreadsheet done by month and use that to cross check payments when received. It gives me all the totals I need. In my daytimer I list my shops, payment and mileage daily.
