Uh oh... address doesn't match... what would you do?

I've got a ms/ revealed audit for Maritz today. The scheduler had seemed a bit "desperate" (I know there's always some wiggle room they have, but this is the first time EVER that they called back flat out accepting my incentive bid, rather than countering at least a couple dollars lower).

Anyways, the scheduler was set on th visit being completed by today. I made my first purchase, and the address on the receipt doesn't match my assigned location. Like, I was assigned 2658 E Yada yada st. The receipt says 2700 E yada yada st. No there's no other location for that brand half a block down the road. Do I do the shop, knowing in my familiarity with the town that it HAS to be the one they're referring to; or wait and make contact with a scheduler in the morning, since there's no one to answer the phone on a Sunday...????

I don't want to put it off, and I don't want to let them down, but I REALLY don't want to do all that work to have I thrown out for "not the right location."

Many of the addresses on their gas station shops are incorrect. I report them in the forms, and they never change them. Some sites have told me they are on a double lot, so they have two addresses. Go ahead and do it, and report the discrepancy. Some stations even have had non-existent addresses on their receipts.

One station I do is listed as being in one state, but is actually in a different state with a city of the same name. They never fix it for some reason. Another station is listed as being in "blank" rather than "blank city." Our state has both. I keep telling them that "blank" and "blank city" are two different cities, 100 miles apart, but they still do not correct the address on the form.

I would take a clear picture of the location that shows the address, if it is displayed. Probably another pic from a further distance showing the anointing lots/locations.

This happens frequently w/ the blue gas stations I shop. I've done them often enough I know which ones will be problematic. I do them and in the internal note question I detail the issue. You can often tell you're going to have a problem when you use the "map this location" and go to street level. One of my recent ones plainly showed a lovely home 4 miles away from the only gas station of the correct brand for miles. Another on a dead end street is the only gas station on the road, but the number is the address of the lot next door. You can also call the number listed on the assignment and verify the address.

We as Shoppers do not validate. One can also go to the website to check an address.
I'm too late to help you, but I agree that I would do it, simply because sometimes the address is wrong. Before I leave I like to run the adress on Google Maps and look at the photo associated witht the address. Sometimes, to find the right address when a location is out in the country, I pair the name of the station with the address. For example you could get a different result from searching for 10674 Hwy 64, than searching for Exxon 10674 Hwy 64.
I hope everything went okay! I agree, this is common with gas stations. A picture of the location's address is a good idea. GeoVerifying is also a good idea!

I did not mean validate the actual act of completing the shop. I simply meant validate that my train of thought (that was erring towards continuing the shop, but I did not originally state because I didn't want it to potentially influence responses) was not an unordinary, way out in left field, way of thinking in the given situation.

And in this particular case, I wasn't questioning the actual address, so verifying on the website wouldn't benefit me. I had no doubt that if they wanted that particular brand evaluated ANYWHERE within a 3mi radius of the address stated on the shop pack, that I was where I needed to be to accomplish that task. My hesitation had more to do with being unfamiliar with how Maritz handles descrepencies such as a receipt address not matching the assigned address perfectly. I've seen some shop instruction that stated specifically not to do the shop if the address doesn't match exactly. I couldn't find any area in these particular instructions that addressed this situation one way or another.
I have run into this several times; one case was that the Gas Station has one address and the c-store another, as the c-store is the owner's office or home address. Another instance was where the gas station uses the Hwy address, and the c-store uses the city street address, I was asked to explain this one and being that is was one of the distance shops I do, I called the fire department they explained this one to me.

Then another one is the address supplied says STREET and not Avenue, and even Maps says that there was No Smith Street, Being I knew that I had just done this station a month ago, I went and found it on my own and then realized the issue.

Yes, we send in corrections, and they still sent it to us unchanged. I called on the phone and talked to them one time this issue. They had the location listed at a North Route Address in Florida. And not a South address as it should be, I tried to explain that that Address going North puts the location in Georgia by over 5 miles, and that ....they explanation to me was that they could not change it as it is the address supplied by the Client, and something about some legal issue.
I am thinking or maybe suggesting that it could be a typo on their part but.... oh ya, they do not make mistakes. How dare I point out a mistake. lol
