Shop-It Stealth Notes App important information (iPhone and Android)

Hello All – There are a lot of shoppers on this forum who use the Shop-It Stealth Notes & Timer App for note taking and timings, so I occasionally post when there are significant updates. Past threads tell my story, so I won’t repeat that here.

There are several important things going on – so I wanted to keep you all informed. The members of this forum have contributed SO many suggestions that have been incorporated into the app over the years!! Please keep the suggestions coming. Due to the differences in platform, the Android and iOs versions of the app have different attributes and distribution methods, but the core function of stealthy notes/timings/photos exists in both.
------
1) I’m collaborating with another developer now. He has done the programming for the app for several years, and before that he worked on programming with Sassie… serendipity brought us together. I’m still assisting with customer support, but he is taking the app in great directions via technology and has the ability to swiftly make any adjustments and introduce updates.

2) Android – the Android app has been completely rebuilt. Android is challenging due to all the devices in use – but we are VERY excited about this new build. We tried to transfer the app, but it was difficult in Google… so we pulled the previous version and reintroduced the new one as a new app… (the logo still looks the same). We would greatly appreciate your feedback on this! If there are any bugs we need to know and will address them quickly (we’ve tested exhaustively, but there are so many combinations of Android devices and operating systems, that we can’t possibly test them all). The new version is free, with in-app purchases available. The Free portion includes the core functionality of stealthy “texting notes”.

3) iPhone - many new updates and improvements and new features - there is a charge for the base version, and it is robust with photo and editing and etc. capabilities. In-App purchases include video features, etc.
-----
Please let us know if you have any issues or suggestions!! Hope you find them useful – we’ve put a lot of effort into developing these, and take quality very seriously.

A search for “Mystery Shopping” in either the Apple App Store, or Google Play will bring them up… since Android version is new, it is fairly far down the list at the moment. [play.google.com]

Awesome app. I could not successfully shop the way I do, without it.

Been a fan of your app for years, both on iOS and later Android. I wouldn't be where I am in the industry without it.
Is editing shop notes still an additional charge on the iPhone. I have huge issue with charging for the ability to add onto or change existing notes.

That was an extremely expensive/extensive update actually (due to the specialized way this app takes notes) - so the decision was made to add this feature and to fund it with in-app purchase (the only other options were to raise the price, or not to add the feature at all due to cost). The way I always edited prior to the add (and still a very easy method) is to simply email the note to myself as a backup. You can edit any way you like from that email window prior to sending it. So, the raw data is always kept in your app - but your fully editable version is emailed. Hope that helps!

It's a balancing act - this is a very niche app so revenue is modest, but we want to keep the cost of the core product low. (far less than the pay on a single fast-food shop).

Poor planning and design not to have editing in the first place. Yes, I am a computer scientist and have taught it for years. It was the first thing I looked for after paying for the app. I have been disappointed with it from the start.
Dulcew, I'm very sorry you are disappointed. I do understand different things are priorities for different users. I'm not a programmer, I'm an entrepreneur - this is a hobby. And I'm quite proud of how many satisfied and loyal users my little invention has smiling smiley It started humbly and has grown. It's still a niche item, though, and requires careful management of limited resources to continue to pay for itself and for ongoing system updates and improvements.

Goodness, why didn't you let me know if you've always been dissatisfied?! We always offer the option of a refund if you don't consider the app a good value and a helpful tool! Apple does allow refunds and it's quite easy. Please just request a refund through the App Store. Let me know if you have any difficulties with that process, and I will be glad to assist. Again, I'm sorry you aren't pleased - I would much rather someone take a refund than be unhappy. That's always been our stated and honored policy.

Kind Regards, and thank you for your feedback!
Lynn

I love Shop-it, besides the texting lookalike feature, I really like being able to just touch the screen for a timestamp. It comes in so handy, and makes it possible to do timings without being obvious. Thank you for your hard work on this app.
dulcew - if you're so darned skilled why do you need to purchase an app. Why don't you create your own!

Thinking seriously about writing one. First thing I was taught and teach: "Never reinvent the wheel"

I haven't shopped enough to figure out the wheel should look like.

dkdshop: In the past month, I've had problems with the app. When I hit the "next" button that should change the screen to a cross-word puzzle, the bottom half of the screen just goes blank, and the notes/timings I've already recorded are still revealed at the top of the screen. Any suggestions?
dulcew, sorry it didn't have all the features you would like! but that's why we have a 'no questions asked' return policy on both iOs and Android. Thankfully we rarely have a return but occasionally we do - can't be everything to everybody unfortunately. I understand that.

CoffeeQueen - thank you so much for the positive words! This app has been an enjoyable (and rather time consuming....) pet project that just keeps growing. It's fun when others appreciate it. I'm not a programmer - just someone who was 'shopping' and wondered why there wasn't an app that did these things... so decided to jump in and give it a try. I like to create... so found some smart people to collaborate with - It's been a fascinating ride.

mahemj...

Instead of hitting 'next', please hit the 'smile' icon next to your text input field... that activates the simulated game now (it was changed from the 'next' button which was causing confusion for some users). Then simply tap the lower right corner of the screen to flip back out of 'panic mode'. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Better?
