Wow! Their proportion sizing is ginormous and the free bread and free peanuts really fill you up even BEFORE your regular food order! We even had take-home bread (3 rolls) that were good for breakfast the next day.

I do wish there was a fee - even a small one like $5 (you know...just for gas money and report time). But I can honestly say that I wouldn't mind doing this shop again for the reimbursement only, b/c the food and service were great.

I was a few bucks over, but could have gone under if I wanted to, but wanted to try an appetizer, so didn't care.

I give the shop an A- in terms of expectations and compensation. If they paid a small fee or the report was slightly shorter, then I'd give it a full A. But for high-quality and very filling food and a moderate shop report, it was pretty good. I just wish we had more of these restaurants near me.

I've never seen them get bonused where I am. They get gobbled up within minutes of the emails going out announcing they've been posted.

I just feel if we are doing a shop that the MSC/client should cover what they are asking us to purchase, I do not care if it is 1 penny. It is just the principle of the matter. You are hiring us to do a job, you should pay for it.

I found myself within two blocks of a location last night and hungry so I did the bar shop. I had a delicious dinner and iced tea plus gave a 20% tip and was still under $25. The report for the bar shop is astoundingly easy and quick and I like how it reflects the eatery's culture. Also the bar tender could not have been more engaging or done a better job -- I'm glad I had a chance to give her some praise.

we view it as a paid dinner. if we're going to "buy" dinner it will be elsewhere. the reports are simple.

I personally would rather get water and use the drinks money to purchase something like an appetizer or just to add to the entree bill.

For me, I would get a steak there, b/c that's what they are known for. Mine tasted fantastic last time. Very tender and flavorful! I'm one of those that if I go to a restaurant known for X, then I'll almost always buy X.

I do like the look of the roadkill, however! I'll probably try it one day. I don't think I've ever gotten a salad at a steakhouse, but I do buy them from Panera Bread all the time!!

I'm with ya on this! If we can get more food out of it, I'm the same way, unless we can find entrees we like at a lower price and we can squeeze in a beer or cocktail.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!

My husband gets the porterhouse every time so we end up going way over. I don't mind though, it's our date night.

I don't do these shops anymore because of the low reimbursement.

I love their Filet. Like you, I am happy to take $35 off my meal price as we would probably go there anyway!

The last time I went, I took my sister. The total for the meal was $70. I had a full rack of ribs. With $35 off, well worth the price for both meals, $35.

It's hard to stay under $35 if you eat like the average customers. If you don't tell the person you are with you are shopping,.go dutch but tell them you'll pay for the meal and they can pay you afterward to keep it on one ticket. If you go with your spouse, or SO, this strategy probably isn't ideal. But siblings, heck yeah!
Actually the first one I shopped was with my sister, and I let her know. I paid for the meal, and she just gave me the difference on the overage. ($40 meal with tip, so she gave me $5. Who won't pay you $5 for a steak dinner?)
I As for the bar shops, I can usually keep it under $25, but don't care if I don't. And I find Tuesdays are a good night to go and usually find an empty seat.

I love Texas Roadhouse!!! What mystery shop company offers this shop? I'd love to do a report on them.

My hubby and I each got a $9.99 entree and drank water. With the yummy rolls and the 2 sides, that was plenty and we came in under $30 with tip.

To tell you would mean we'd violate our independent contractor agreements with the company that shops them. Best advice is to check out jobslinger.com and msjobboard.com and sign up with all linked companies at them.

Check your local TXRH specials. In my area, you can go anytime on Wednesdays and get an 8 oz sirloin dinner with 2 sides & fresh baked rolls for $9.99.

Speaking of this shop, I sent in my report a week ago and it is still sitting as "received" with a total of $0.00 for both fee and expenses. I don't shop for this company very often -- do they have a fairly slow turnaround on approving reports? I'm sure I'll get a shop rejected someday, but given how easy this report was I'd be pretty surprised if this was my first rejection!

The last report to them was approved in about a day but it wasn't the restaurant shop. I'd give them another day or two and then would contact them.

I have done a fair number of these shops and love them. I wouldn't call the report super easy but it is not difficult. I ALWAYS go over the reimbursement. I rarely do shops where I don't make anything but I make an exception for these.

My boyfriend and I do that one regularly. We usually go over about 15 dollars or so but that is because we almost always get an appetizer. Also, we get the entrees we want and do not care about going over. Report is super easy and short. We figure that we can't eat anywhere else for $15 and it is great food. Also, about the suggestions, you both cannot get the 6 ounce cheap steak as the two entrees are supposed to be different.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.

I do the dinner at the bar shops... works out so much better!

With this particular shop, the requirements in your area may be different, but in my area there is no requirement for the entrees to be different. I shop often with two guests on Wednesdays and we all three order the six ounce steak.

I'd have to agree I think that $35 at Texas Roadhouse was a sufficient amount of money to give a $6 tip on top of ordering two entrees for me and my son we will both stuffed and ended up taking food home

This is one of only two shops that I accept that are reimbursement only. The reimbursement never covers our full check. The reason I do it is because the report is easy and my wife and I go there often anyway.

I would never take the shop if there was a limit on what I could order though.

If it's showing as received it's been edited and there should be a fee and reimbursement amount showing. I'd email the scheduler.

I have had a few go to received showing $0.00 as reimbursement. It was later adjusted to $25 and paid according to schedule so no need to worry. I have done these for years but this 0.00 after received is new. They have adjusted a few weeks later and paid on time per the mscs schedule so no worries.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

Last Friday, dinner, non-shop: 2 adults, 2 burgers, one soda, no apps, no dessert, with tip = $28.
