Opted out of Gigspot-how do you sign up for companies that use Gigspot

Some of the companies refer you to Gigspot to sign up but I opted out and now I can not sign up for these companies. Anyone have a work around for this? Or is it just not possible?

That's what I thought but the Indi individual sites redirect to Gigspot. I was hoping someone from Gigspot
could lend some insight.

@edawn, did you get an answer? Same thing just happened to me and I don't want to re-activate my gigspot account. thx
I'm very confused. So if you go to an individual company's shopmetrics login page and click become a shopper, it sends you to gigspot? I just tried it on my PC and it didn't happen, although honestly I didn't attempt to fill out the questionnaire.

Yes for about 2 days before I politely asked them to put me back.

I deactivated my Gigspot account due to preference. I didn't have problems with it, I just didn't like it.

Today when I tried to sign up with a new Shopmetrics MSC, I received the message, "Good news. Gigspot recognizes your email address. Click here to go to Gigspot" and the sign-up process ended for that MSC. I followed the link to Gigspot, and Gigspot didn't recognize my credentials, and sent me a "Change password" link. I don't want to reactivate my Gigspot account, and would prefer to use the same email address for all MSCs, but that might not be possible.

ETA that I followed the link from msc to gigspot.

Ah, I did not attempt to sign up as I am signed up with all of the Shopmetrics MSCs that I'm aware of. I would suggest signing up with a new email and then changing the email address in the system.

I just went so far as entering my email address and zip code for a new to me MSC. It took me to the next page of the registration, not Gigspot. Maybe your Gigspot account was not completely deactivated. I removed myself at least six months ago or more.

When I deactivated from gigspot I did not do it manually. I emailed them and requested to be removed.
I deactivated maybe 2 or 3 months ago. It seems that only my password was deactivated, not the entire account. I took @bgriffin's suggestion and changed my email address to my preferred address after I signed up. All that hullabaloo, and there aren't any shops in my area!
I went back through my emails. In order to deactivate I emailed Help@Gigspot.com I requested they delete the account around 9 am on November 10 and had an email back within an hour or so that it had been done. Much easier than using a different email then changing it backwinking smiley

I didn't contact gigspot directly. When I was logging in to an MSC (forget which one), a choice appeared to either go with the MSC's classic site, or stick with Gigspot. I choose classic. That choice carried over to the other MSCs, and I never heard from Gigspot again. Until today. I'll let sleeping dogs lie. Changing the email address was just a matter of clicking the Edit button. NBD. Easier than raising the spectre of Gigspot past.
Okey dokey

To get out of Gigspot you have to have them deactivate you. There is no way to deactivate your account on their website. and no matter what you do, if you try to sign up for one of their MSC's you will be re-directed to Gigspot.

I was just hoping that everything would pan out with gigspot bc on a phone it is simple to do the surveys. But now I am trying to accept an assignment and it won't let me. Super frustrating! what other tips do ya'll have?
I think I saw that an MSC that had been with Gigspot was getting out. I am wondering if it was not good for them either.
I had the exact same thing happen with "opting out" of gig spot. I was signed up with an MSC under one email address & completed many assignments for them. They switched over to gigspot. I opted out of gigspot months ago & when I tried logging in & couldn't remember my password I contacted gigspot bc it wasn't working. they told me I can NEVER reactivate my account bc I opted out period . I tried what was mentioned in this thread, changing my email address in the MSC's site but it says denied because that email belongs to a gigspot user?! I've never heard of such a thing where you can't opt back into a site. Now I'm stuck with this new gigspot account that I created under the new email address & only 2 shops I did recently to show for my experience. I've resorted to contacting the Schedulers directly to tell them who I am but never know if those emails get read? really no work around. this specific MSC posts only certain types of opportunities on their site & others on Gigspot so you can't even search their site for the Shops I want....such a bummer....isnt gigspot the MSC's client? The MSC's are the ones who should decide if someone cannot deactivate their account not Gigspot! Just my two cents sad smiley

There's always room for improvement, it's the biggest room in the house!
