Quick cell phone shops-what is really involved?

I can't tell without accepting the job what really is involved. It pays $9. Anyone have an idea if there are photos involved and what kind of POV is required? How long is the report? Any information you have is appreciated.
Thank you!

Without knowing client and MSC, I can tell you general information. Some shops have a designated wait time (such as 20, 30, or 40 minutes). If you do not receive assistance within this time, you are free to leave the location. You will explain this condition in the report. Some clients require a business card. If you are not assisted, you probably will not receive a business card. This is noted in the report when you state that you were not assisted in the designated time frame and do not have a business card. Some reports will ask you to explain this condition in a brief narrative. For example, "I was not assisted within forty minutes. My name was on a wait list. All visible employees were assisting other customers, and twelve customers were in line ahead of me. There was no opportunity for me to ask for a business card or other, informational materials." However, forty minues give you plenty of time to notice other information for the report. You will look at everything in the store and report on cleanliness, tidiness, merchandising, etc. Many shops require an image of the front of the location, whether that is indoors or outdoors If I remember correctly, one client wants images of specific signage (hours of operation? logo? promotional materials?).

Some clients have multiple locations near each other. Always confirm the address for each visit. !

(The shops are different from the audits, which require a minimum number of photos. The audits may or may not require more time on-site, depending upon the situation. Shops usually require few photos.)

Guidelines tell you what to do and what not to do.

Sometimes, you can wait for or ask for a bonus. Can you offer to do multiple locations? These are optional.

Thank you so much for the information! There are several shops that I can request a certain fee. I'm thinking if the money is right I'll accept them.
The fee sounds like it is an inquiry shop and not an audit. The audits usually pay more. Try and go when it is not a busy time so there is no wait.. I found the busy times are during the lunch hours and after the work day is over. If I got to a location when it first opened there was no wait time and I can be in and out in less than twenty minutes. I think one time I had to wait the 30 minutes and was paid when I explained the situation.
I won't do a cell phone shop for less than $15 and it would have to be within 10 miles of home at that price.
The quick $9, if they're the purple ones I'm thinking of, you take a store front pic.....eta and get a business card. It really is quick because they offer like 15 phones (mostly cheap ones) and have like three prices to choose from. The sales associate can sum up their questions and make the recommendations in like 8 minutes. You can take 12 steps and be on the other side of the store so it's easy to see all of the things you need to see and report in like 1.5 minutes.

I think this is the Smartphone shop. I find it easy. I'll do it if it is on my way somewhere.

However, you are assigned a particular brand like AT&T or Verizon. If you get to the store and it is "John's Cell Phones" or some other shop name then you need to abort the shop and you have wasted time.
Oh, AT&T. Not as simple as most others. $15 minimum, $20 if you'll be in that area anyway.

It says AT&T. Wouldn't it be an AT&T store?

It should be, but the MSC does not confirm that is what the store actually is. They rely on the shopper to verify the store has not changed hands or is an independently owned store that cells phones for multiple carriers. I know because I showed up to a shop and the store front did not say AT&T.

I am guessing that these shops are actually for a particular brand of cell phone not the carrier. I have done them at stores for multiple carriers with the same guidelines, through a certain ap.

In my opinion they are easy after you done one. 10-15 minute report.

.

I could be wrong but I think you are thinking of a different shop altogether. I'm basing this on the $9 job fee which never changes.
