BWW Shop Questions

You should assume that also, before being so scathing regarding others and READING THE GUIDELINESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Yeah - I think that was the difference.

Diff. locations can mean different guidelines.

If I could post the entire files for my guidelines and survey form, you guys could see that they don't note this distinction others are talking about.

How is Isaiah being scathing? He and others have stated, over and over, to read the guidelines. No one can go wrong with that. It's in black and white, and can't be disputed.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
However, the guidelines for his area must be different than the guidelines for my area. Because in my area the guidelines differentiate between the tables in the bar area and the dining room. His/Hers speak of "bar rails" and mine do not. I just picked up two shops, since I hadn't done any in a while, and my guidelines read the same.

He/She said the guidelines that they had were "The" guidelines. However, they are not. So I thought maybe he/she should say something like, "The guidelines I have state......blah blah.....so it must be different in your area" instead of stating that I was wrong and so I should read the guidelines. blah blah blah blah blah blah...
Okay, spicy, I understand. Our guidelines are different based on where we are located. How would we know that unless we read guidelines from another area? There's no reason to do that, so we wouldn't.

In my area, I can sit in the bar. In your area, you have to sit in the dining room. Again, we have to read the guidelines! Nothing scathing about it.

Ok, let me go back and look. Ahh, I see what I found scathing, here it is. It's the "....I and others have highly recommended reading" part that got my goat that day, that moment. As if I hadn't read them and I had them wrong. I though they'd changed and I didn't know and misspoke because of dudes comment on my comment. A warning to me.....I didn't like it as I was not wrong, he was!

@spicy1 wrote:

When they say "bar", they don't mean "belly up to the bar", they mean in the bar. The tall tables are in the bar. I suspect, had they know someone sat there, the shop would be invalidated.

Direct from the guidelines I and others have highly recommended reading:

The guidelines can change. This rule has been around for a while.

@spicy1

Both you and shoptastic referred to checking previous surveys, not the new ones. One reason I assumed you have not read the new ones is your over reacting to my copying the information about where we can sit. You are assuming I put it in CAPS to offend you. I copied it exactly how it is presented on the guidelines, in ALL CAPS.

I want to make sure we are both discussing the same assignment. A new wave was released in late May in my area. Based on another thread, it appears that other areas were released mid May.

The new format only provides a link to the new guidelines from within the survey. Several keys instructions are in ALL CAPS.

Are you reading the new survey and guidelines? Both include instructions and images of the new receipt image requirements.

My posts are solely based on my opinions and for my entertainment, contact a professional if you need real advice.

The last assignment, besides the ones I just signed up for had the new receipt requirements, no need for geoverify etc.

It wasn't the caps, it was this "Direct from the guidelines I and others have highly recommended reading:" Whereas I and others is not I, as in me, and excludes me as the recommendor and makes me the recommendee. Puts me in the group of not-knowers. New words abound.

I think spicy's point was that it was maybe presumptuous to assume that we hadn't read our guidelines.

I didn't take heavy offense to your comments or anyone else's, but I did think it seemed a bit presumptuous. And I agree with spicy that it can come off a little rude, scathing, and the like. Although, again, I wasn't making too much of it (possibly b/c I'm super busy this week, lol).

I don't have any guidelines from May and don't have any BWW shops scheduled for this month later either. So I was relying on my saved April guidelines and saved April surveys for BWW.

If the guidelines changed from April to May, then that was the difference (putting aside any possible geographical differences). It's not a big deal and it's good to learn something new/important that I may have not spotted for my next BWW shop.

Can you order a drink// I didn't see it in the guidelines and I am doing one tomorrow.

You can order whatever you want as long as you get one beverage and one entree/wings, and if you got at dinner an appetizer. You can't get more than one drink though, and the reimbursement really isn't enough to cover one.

The server almost never mentions drink specials or shows me the beverage book. After staring at the menu for a few seconds to give her a chance to offer, I ask if there are any drink specials. It's amazing how many times there have been beer specials that cost LESS than a fountain drink or tea. Usually in a short glass, but then I get water after.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
I always get a drink.

I had the same problem last week. I had to ask for an itemized receipt because they only gave me the charge receipt.
The servers don't hit most of the requirements from my guidelines. I wonder if they know they are supposed to offer me a tablet or make small talk.

They give the tablets to their friends and dudes at the bar that they flirt with to get big tips. Ive only been offered a tablet once in 100 times

There are 3 local locations. At 2, I have never been offered a tablet. At the 3rd one, one is always put on my table when I order the FB lunch. At this location, I am told my meal will be free if not served within 15 minutes, and a tablet is put on the table with the timer activated. The other two so far have never hit the guidelines.

isnt naming client & quoting guidelines ica violation?

I wonder about that too, MSNinja. Good question.
This is one of the easiest shop reports I have done. The report is mostly check boxes (explain any no answers) and a single 5 sentence narrative. The food is pretty good and I always have leftovers for another meal. There's no requirement to stay a minimum amount of time.

Which burger did you get? I'm going to get the black bean burger next time.

Yesterday, I got salad and wings for lunch. I had the leftovers for dinner.

The last shop I did, a dinner shop, was popcorn shrimp and traditional wings. I had a glass of wine with both shops.

Go on Tues. or Thurs. (50% off day on wings - traditional and boneless, respectively) and during $4 appetizer hours (check your store for them) and you'll have food for days left over.

I believe I got three appetizers once (it's only $12!) + entree/wings and after eating that big ole nacho cheese queso chili dip thingy, I was already starting to feel full! grinning smiley

Had a bunch of take-home boxes.

If you play around with the math, you could probably get a burger + small wings (10 pieces) + appetizer and still be under the reimbursement if you go during the right days/hours.

4 appetizers is only $16 so you could buy a small wings on top of that ($5) and be at $21.00 pre-tax.

Lots of mix and match possibilities.

Wow, shoptastic, thanks for the breakdown!

I look for quality over quantity for food shops. This keeps my waistline where I want it.

My shop was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but that was a game day and the restaurant is at the baseball stadium. Shoptastic, do you know if they offer happy hour specials on game days?

I can't remember if I've gone on a game day before, but I know for sure I've gone on both a Tuesday and a Thursday and gotten happy hour specials on both days - on top of the half off wings. smiling smiley

I avoid busy times, because it takes FOREVER to be seated and to be served during peak hours (for example:
7-9 PM for dinner).
I often grab the itemized receipts before placing the CC in the check presenter when I do restaurant shops.

JAS, you can keep that receipt? I did notice that they don't bring it back to you, only the credit card receipt.

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
I keep the itemized receipt, too. I do that everywhere I eat. I take the receipt and look at it, pull out my wallet and get my credit card, and I put my wallet on top of the receipt. Then I put the card out for the server. They take the card and go. Sometimes they print a second itemized receipt and bring it, sometimes not. But I never have to worry about not getting the itemized receipt back.
When I first started shopping BWW, they hit most of the requirements, but not all. I've never been offered a tablet while I wait, for example. And once, on a takeout shop, all they gave me was the charge receipt. I got my hand slapped for that, deservedly so, but they've never done that again.

I think I'm going to try to get one for next week, but it's been awhile since I've done one, so I haven't seen the new guidelines. Mine have always explicitly stated to sit in the "dining room" and "not in the bar."

So.... Now I'm craving BWW! I'd really rather do Arooga's (I like their wings and burgers are better), but, other than their take-out shops (I've only seen one here and grabbed it faster than you can blink), the regular dine-in shops seem like more of a pain than BWW's.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Does anyone know when the MSC posts the new shops for he month? I'm only seeing a leftover lunch shop.
