A rash of who shops who questions....

I have certainly noticed an uptick in the number of new members, and occasionally a not-so-new members, asking a "who shops so and so?" ICA violation question. If they can't follow the number one rule of the forum, how on earth can they follow the guidelines to properly perform a shop? ....just sayin'

Oranges and tricycles. Not everyone reads the rules for the forum or the ICA in full. Guidelines for a shop are the instructions, so they are more likely read in full.

How many times do we need to say the same thing before it sinks in... OP, good point!! Just askin?

Just a thought: If a member is new, they have not seen these message about rules violations before. So, it might seem like a lot of offenses to folks who are regulars on the board, but, to a new member, it's often a first time thing....

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
Don't you think a newbie reads before actually posting, that is my impression, but I guess not all do. Maybe a one time visible on the forum to not ask who does what may prevent some of it.

I agree with MF Johnson that if the poster is new, he may not know or understand. We need to be patient and tell the newbies over and over again what an ICA violation is and why it is important to remember the ICAs we have signed and honor them. We should also be telling the newbies that revealing the clients of MSCs is against forum rules and ask them to honor our forum. I think this is happening. It is pretty frustrating when longterm forum members who have been shopping a long time make these requests.
Perhaps that they are lazy or impatient to read the guidelines for themselves and want someone to give them immediate answers to whatever questions they are asking. By the way, I am not saying all newbies are lazy, just also saying.
Y not have newbies sign or check a box that they read rules before posting for 1st time.
From reading your title, I thought you were going to ask "who shops xxx for xx dollars" kind of questions. There's a lot of disagreement about what money it takes for a shop to be worth it. Your point is great too!
Maybe the Forum can post a "sticky" note to the top of each page reminding everyone (even "seasoned" shoppers) of the "#1 Rule"... just my $.02
The posting guidelines, which include this rule, come up in a blue box next to every post that every poster makes.
i just noticed blue box after post. it says do not reveal the clients of mscs but it should say not to reveal clients & mscs in same post or thread. were allowed to reveal clients & were allowed to reveal mscs but not at same time. a newbie might not undersatnd the diff.
A thread, all about hating on people that can't follow rules, that manages to be posted in the wrong place and is moved by an admin. Irony.

"The Rules" being cited, and people, one in particular, is called lazy and other derogatory terms...

What else is in that blue box again?

"No personal insults."

"Add a positive contribution to the community."

How does this thread and the majority of its posts fit those rules?

Why do you think myself and others never bother to post here or contribute?

Hypcritical "I came here to complain passive aggressively about others and pretend that my negative contribution is somehow any better than their transgression because I'm on an Internet Holy War for The Rules!"
I do believe that newbies need to get the information from us. We need to be patient at least once. There should be no personal insults made to newbies. No one new wants to be put down for asking a question. We as forum members should be clear about the clients and the Mystery Shopping companies. I didn't even know 10 years ago what MSC meant.
This post is really ironic because most of the independent contractor agreements I have signed, and I'm talking about 98%, require me not to speak about the shop, the guidelines, the client or the company on public boards such as this one......so, we're ALL in violation, not just us "newbies" but us "oldbies" also!

Edit 1:If anyone wants some examples, ask me and I can provide them. Here's one, IPSOS: Article 1 Second *
Edit 2: Who's signed up with IPSOS? OP, are you signed up with IPSOS? Have you asked questions here, on this forum or answered questions regarding this company or it's shops? Then you are in violation of your agreement.

The "Thou shalt not name the client with the MSC" is not the only violation that exists!
Another one is not to add extra chocolate sauce on your sundae.
