Food items will definitely be rejected. I have gotten ceramic baking dishes, appetizer plates, and some kitchen utensils. As long as it is something that could be presented as a gift at a shower, it's acceptable. I was concerned about the utensils, but utensils are used for wishing wells. I rarely go over the reimbursement amount, and if I do, it's only by a dollar or two.
