You don't even have to explain yourself, as over the years I've NEVER been asked why... Just like there's no question about asking for a receipt for my $0.15 piece of candy I paid for with my pocket change.

I want to bust out the inner part of the spout but haven't figured out how to yet.

I'm with Spicy, but I only have 4-5 gal containers so far. I drive in on empty that day and do a route until both my car and all the cans are full.

I think it's Portland, Oregon where there's a law that you can't put your own gas in your own car; you must allow the station attendant to put gas in your car for you. Maybe there are other places where that is the law as well. However, where I live I can put my own gas in my car so I don't feel weird asking because I don't have to ask. I have 10-5 gallon gas cans because I can hit the road pretty hard between MF, Maritz and a few others. I've sometimes put gas in other people's cars at the shops I've done. You know, the ones hanging around asking for gas money!
