Right me too! I use them as route fillers when I'm going to the local malls. I can't eat all that food so my mom ends up eating, too. I do it for $6 too! The shops are very poular in my area and get snaped right away as soon as they are posted. The biggest bonus I got for 5 guys shop is only $4 and let me tell you it doesn't happen often at all!

Also, I ONLY do them as convenience shops when I have to go out and have to eat. I figure why not, since the shop would be along the way. I also like that their burgers use no preservatives, nor additives (fresh meat daily) and their veggies are fresh too, as they cut them EACH morning. That means the fries are made from fresh cut potatoes every single day.

It's one of the few ff places that is decently healthy. I also load up my burgers with all the veggies practically. Hungry already!

Would a person have a right after 4 months of abuse by a gang of posters on this forum (many seemingly taking cheap shots and side swipes out of nowhere) to tell a person to shut up after they'd JUST been rude and insulting to me yet again on the FIRST DAY I came back after leaving for said abuse?

Do I have a right to do that? Am I wrong for that?

4 months of abuse + leave of absence for said abuse + abuse on first day back. Am I the person in the wrong? It's like telling a rape victim, "Hey, step back and look at your own behavior. Yeah, you may have been sexually harassed for four months and never did anything to provoke it, but you shouldn't have called your attacker a jerk or told your attackers to shut up for insulting you."

That'd be outrageous, right? That's the context here.

Where were you criticizing these other folks who harassed me for those 4 months? Did you ever tell them to stop? Did you ever report them? Did you ever defend me?

edit: Sorry for the tone with these questions above, rofl. I'm extremely sensitive after so much abuse here that I can get emotional from having to even talk about this situation. I'm just saying, though, if you never tried to stop my attackers, then you have no right to criticize me only.

The two things I ever said that can be considered rude were telling two people who literally just abused me to "shut up" and another person who just said something rude that that person was a "jerk." I'm not STARTING the abuse/insults/rudeness (I even explicitly said I wanted PEACE that same day I came back only to be mocked by Irene in my thread - which I ignored). I'm defending myself against the abusers/provokers!

I don't see that you were abused except in your own mind. It appears that if you can't get attention with your long postulating posts, you accuse others of rudeness and bullying and flounce around threatening to leave. Where did you grow up that telling someone to shut is not rude?

I've watched and read all that you have posted. There's been some rudeness to you. You've been incredibly rude to others. Like many very sensitive people, you seem ultrasensitive and you analyze everything said to you, easily taking offense, and posting long, angry arguments, although you are very insensitive to the feelings of others. One of your targets is now a poster who defended you in one of your past skirmishes.

I'm wondering why you bothered to come back. Maybe because you never intended to leave?

For a while I did a number of them (back when my home sale fell through and I had already signed a lease on new place) to help with my food budget. Went on hiatus and had not done any for a while but recently did one. They never get bonused much here or at least I have never been offered more than $3 bonus until two days ago. Then I had a call wanting someone to go to a city 65 miles north of me and do the shop that day. They asked, I requested, and got a $50 bonus. A first for my 5 Guy shops!!!

If the shoppers would let the shops sit, sooner or later, they will go up on the fees. Why work for $6 when you can make $50 or more?

Audacity is right. Shoptastic has been causing trouble for the entire four months she has been here. I don't think she has any attackers, but if she thinks so, she should toggle them. If she cannot stop causing problems, I think she should be asked to leave the forum.

Unfortunately there are fallacies in this line of thinking. This would only be true if there were only 1 available shopper for each available shop. Let's say there is a random Five Guys in.........Omaha (somewhere in middle America). Let's say there are 15 shoppers in that area that want to do Five Guys. Let's say at the same time there is a random Five Guys in.......Grand Island (side note, do not eat Mexican food in Grand Island, NE). Let's say there are only 2 shoppers in that area that want to do Five Guys. Will fees ever get to $50 per in Grand Island? Very likely. There are only 2 shoppers there. They can afford to sit back and wait. Even if shopper A takes a shop at $6 the other shops for that week will be sitting there and sitting there and sitting there and shopper B can get their preferred rate. But in Omaha? Not happening. If everyone waits until it gets to $50 per then only 2 out of 15 shoppers get that rate. The others will be left out to dry. I'm sorry but if I'm shopper C in Omaha I'm going for $45 because that's better than letting someone else have it at $50. And if I'm shopper M and I really like Five Guys I might take it at $6, because by the time it gets down to me I'm gonna get 1 single Five Guys shop per decade.

Thanks to BG for providing the quote. When a post has been edited a billion times, often manipulating the meaning of the responses following, I don't have the time or inclination to revisit.

This forum is worse than my local Topix forum sometimes. Long rants that no one cares about and people that can't just ignore trolls and just prolong useless prose. Typos are now common place and in reality is what our language has evolved into.

Dongjuan, I can't really disagree with your assertion. This is the first time the T word has been mentioned despite the mounting evidence. In general, members try not to assume someone is a troll too soon while hoping we can actually help them along in case they really do want and need the knowledge. And then there are the times when it is almost as much fun to @#$%& with them as they try to @#$%& with us

I was curious why someone would consider Five Guys healthy and was simply stating I was glad someone else asked. The person in question reported a post I made stating she might be better suited to a career in academics or non profit as insulting. How that is insulting I have no clue. I have several teachers in my family and have the utmost respect for teachers. Likewise people who work for non profits work to better the lives of others. What could possibly be insulting about that? At the same time I was told to shut up twice, called a jerk, and was insinuated to be unethical. It only makes sense that I might be reported for simply asking for clarification.

It was me that was quoted with the them and us. The problem is it that line had nothing to do with all of this. I was responding to someone else who was talking about how to handle Internet trolls.

To enjoy or "like" a post about a commoner shop was delightful. Prozac comes to mind. Some mentally stress situations need Prozac. Not about the Shop itself but the stability of a posted poster.

When a poster has posted at 0300am spewing venom of distaste and returns 18 hours (0600pm) later to continue a distasteful rant, then medications need to be adjusted. Maybe a $6 hamburger is not what she be eaten. Hypnosis may be warranted. Rest and relaxation should be forth coming.

This forum is not a good fix for some posters. If one is going to leave, then LEAVE. If $6 is not working for your bottom line for your business, then look and work for higher paying shops, or get a real job. If one wants new conversation then talk to a shrink.

Before posting rants, record then, and listen to them. One could learn something. ..

Suck it up. Insults or rudeness. Get over it. and Move on. Quitting hashing your departure speech and just do it. We will be alright.

If you like the food, the time and location are convenient, and you've gotta eat, do it for $6. You'd be out of pocket eating somewhere else. The shop value is $18, not a bad deal. The point with the bonuses is mostly if you are not leaving the house that day or have to drive a distance to do the shop, or maybe it's a happy coincidence that you are going to be in the area that day when you are offered the shop with a bonus. And, if it's not food you normally like to eat then a bonus is in order because then the value is not $18, it's $6.

And that's why this forum is so popular. I suggest to look at the age of the posters who are so smug with their opinions before taking them seriously. And for the responses from posters like sojo, you can tell the problem is they are from the ghetto and disgruntled. We. Funny!

And who is the troll, or what was determined to be the trolling behavior that was displayed by whom? I can follow written conversations and so can other readers. I'm sure you peeps started the same crap with me. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Way to get jollys. Sad little peeps.

And yes, I see lots of 5 Guys shops right now on the board and none of them are currently bonused. Most people in my area do them for $6. Its rare that they are bonused but I wait until they are because I like to have meals with my husband and $12 won't feed us both. Or, if I'm dining alone because he's working, I need a bonus because I'd rather eat at home (salad or veggies). The food is not exactly healthy but it's better quality than many other burger places. I think someone was looking for that distinction earlier.

Just a note to point out that a 3 AM (or so) time on a post is not indicative of the actual posting time. The post directly above this showed up around 9 AM on 6/26, but is logged by the system as 1:20 PM. A lot of replies to the 3 AM post were also in that time range. Attributing mental state to the time shown on a post is shaky, even if the times were correct; worse when they are off by several hours/the time of day.

Ghetto is a state of mind and not where someone lives. Apparently one has not been taught ebonics. Don't let the TV shows and News play one for a unsubstantiated person. I am above the ground.

It is obvious the time on the forum and actually time is 4 hours different. It does not matter whether the post is 300am or 300pm. Time is not a issue nor the mental state of a postor. One can spew venom anytime of the day. If one is under mental stress then that may not be on time or the time, for them to be spewing. So the postor may also be off like the time.
