My #1 Ten Foot Pole Shop

For me, Western Union bribe shops have got to be the worst possible shops of all time. Contrary to popular belief, I can act as stupid as any other nincompoop, but I had to choke out every minute of that scenario. Newbies please take note if it reads Western Union, be sure you know what you are getting into.

bribe?

I almost accepted one once, but couldn't work it into my schedule. Why the warning?

What was wrong?

More of a personal thing with me. I totally despise these type of companies to begin with, and really don't feel comfortable taking out a payday loan for a shop. (can't trust myself with money..lol).
I had to try bribing the "certified" Western Union employee to take $100 for a transaction. I had to repeat the scenario script word for word. I had to act like a low-life petty slight of hand type person. The shame and self loathing of even acting like that was just too much. Some kind of a sleazy, dirty, low-down freak, who would walk up and try to bribe somebody...

sorry. you asked.
Sinclair Property Group Audit. Not even with a 100 foot pole

What's done is done. An egg cracked cannot be cured.
There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
The one that came to mind for me is the one that may still be offered by Cirrus. LOVE the store, wouldn't touch a shop there with a 10 foot pole and $100 bonus!
Acquiring department store credit card applications. The freaking report is insane. Never again.
Those must be different than what I've done. Two or three different companies and all the reports were easy peasy.

I spent at least an hour searching out words and phrases in tiny, tiny print and photographing certain elements For the grand sum of $18 plus the drive. A total PITA.

Oh yeah, totally different.

SeeLevel car negotiation shops.... and only because of the pompus a** that handles them....
I know that many others do well with them, but I've learned to steer clear of any gas station 'revealed' shops. I stumbled time and time again trying to get the 'right' photos. I just decided I wasn't meant to do them. I'm pretty much at that point with banking shops. Now that I think of it.. both types of shops are from the same MSC.. so maybe it's just that MSC I'm not meant to work with? smiling smiley
If you are having issues with two completely different types of shops and the only common denominator is the MSC you have more than likely hit on the problem, LOL.

I have several ten-foot pole shops:

BARE's testing center shops
Behr paint shops
DIY credit card shops
Gasoline stations
Jeans credit card shops
Men's suits credit card shops
Menu boards
Mortgage shops

And even more twenty-foot pole shops:

Any shop requiring the consumption of coffee (ick!)
Anything for Cirrus which does not include payment in full in advance of shopping by certified check
Anything for DSG
Car dealerships
Car title loan shops
Cash transfer shops
Grocery store shops
On-site audio/video recording or covert photo shops
Reimbursement only shops
Pay-day loan shops
Porn stores, strip clubs, and restaurant/bars which require staff to dress in demeaning uniforms

Heh. I did a Bare testing shop a bit ago where I ALMOST passed the damn test, and I was not trying! Thank God it had tons of math.. my math Kung Fu is not strong.

There aren't many categories left! But fair point about so-called 'breastaurants', they need to up their game menu-wise.
I like the 'bribe' shop. I see it as giving the employee an opportunity to demonstrate their honesty and professionalism.
Targeted apartment shops, anything to do with a car dealership, 2 shops for the price of one (purchase and return).
The chicken shop that requires I give an OOPS! certificate if the poor minimum wage employees don't get enough "drumstick points" (ie no upsell, too much trash in the drivethrough, dirty floor etc). What a way to stick it too the little guy.............gotta even collect their names for the report if they don't get enough points overall. ICKY. and MEAN.

Why grocery stores and gas stations? IF I may ask? They are easy and you have to go there anyways to your spend money. NO coffee? oh no! lol I totally agree with reimbursement only shops! What's the purpose really? May as well go to the place on my own, order what I want and not have to write a report about it. It's really rare that I take one of those.
Amusement Advantage...one report with 40+ narratives. Seriously. More if you had a problem with anything or anyone. Plus, NO shoppers fee and NO reimbursement! only free tickets for pay. I got threatening texts from them on a daily basis over a report while I was in the hospital. Actually got hurt on the job. Harassing phone calls, texts, emails. Just not worth it. Read VERY carefully before accepting any of these shops. You will be working the entire time that you are at the park or event. You will NOT be able to enjoy any part of your visit. Really though, Where is the incentive to answer 200+ questions with names, locations and times of every person you encounter. They require you to purchase over a dozen or more things for which they are not paying you for and you do not even need! Be VERY careful before accepting a shop from them. Read the actual report, the guidelines do NOT explain how extensive each interaction has to be. Not 10 ft pole, an entire football field for me. Lost $200 on that one shop.

Western Union shops where you have to act like an idiot or a criminal. Then when the clerk would not have any part of it or even hear me out, she kept directing me to call on their phones, the MSC would not pay me and my report said that I did not follow instructions! I won't even shop in that store anymore since I did that shop. I am still embarrassed!.

Phone shops paying $5 or less. For any reason.

I am game to try anything once or twice! I've tried a great number of one-off and strange shops for decent pay! But then those are the shops you end up chasing payment 90 days later so I'm trying to control myself now.

Do you actually work then?
Since Rousseau specifically mentioned the demeaning uniforms, I'm thinking it would not matter if the food is five star.

I have done Amusement Advantage shops in my area that offer a flat reimbursement.. so if you don't spend the over that amount, what is left is considered your payment. If you pinch pennies you CAN come out ahead. However.. now that it's waterpark season I won't TOUCH Amusement Advantage. As a 50 year old woman with no children and no family in the area (so as to share with nieces and nephews) I have NO use for the 3 park tickets given as payment after the two I'm given for the shop. Oh and I still have to pay out of pocket for food and gift shop.. with NO reimbursement. On a lark, when they were looking to fill shops- I emailed my scheduler to inquiry IF (given what I shared above re no kids and my age) perhaps they could pay me $50 instead of the extra tickets (a value of almost $100 each).. I was told no. I don't blame the scheduler. If the client is so rigid then it serves them right not to get enough shoppers. We have other attractions in our area with shops, I'll stick with those.
