Yesterday worked out so well, I just couldn't believe it.... First, the route itself was a gorgeous drive... I drove through Olympic National Park from which I could see old growth rain forests, the Pacific Ocean, pristine lakes, a herd of elk and more. I then drove across the Olympic Peninsula where I saw fields of lavender... I had two ferry rides across the Puget Sound on the way home, on one of which there was a professional naturalist helping passengers spot orca whales. Finally, one of my last stops was on a little town on the San Juan Islands that sported the same architectural style with which it was founded 100 years ago. The drive alone was worthy of a day trip! I even passed through this silly little town of Forks - the one in which the Twilight Series is set.
Then, there was the shopping... I was expecting to be out for 13-14 hours and bring in $315. As it turns out, I caught a ferry on the way home that I wasn't expecting to catch and did not get stuck in any traffic at all, so I was only out 12 hours. Better: Just as I was thirty minutes away from a little town in the middle of nowhere, I made my 21st call to reach an apartment that had not answered the phone or returned my messages in two weeks and the manager actually answered! I was on a tour an hour later: +$75. Then, just as I was logging on to that MSC's website to let the scheduler know that I had finally gotten through, I checked email and... An offer I had made on a quickie cell phone shop for that same little town was accepted. +$40.
So, I got home 12 hours after I departed having done $415 in shops. The best part: It was only six shops! One bank, two apartments, two post offices and one cell phone shop. I spent less than three hours dong the write-ups.
Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
