IPSOS smartphone shops

I just recently starting working with IPSOS and find the reports fair for the pay.

I am considering taking a smartphone shop for them tomorrow because it is so close to where I work. However, the information button says 180 questions. That seems like a lot for the pay.

Is this an easier shop than it appears?

I haven't done IPSOS smartphone shops in about a year. It is the only job by this MSC that I had multiple payment problems with and so far have kept on my 10-foot pole list. That being said, they were easy and abundant shops

One of their popular shops has 95 questions and rarely takes even 15 minutes for me to complete -- and I am SLOW!

What kind of payment problems?
I had a few different small problems but the reoccurring one was with going to sites that were no longer in business. It's been over a year so my memory is a bit fuzzy but the report wasn't programmed to allow it to be submitted for a closed location even though the guidelines gave clear instructions. I had to contact the scheduler and request them to submit the report manually (this has been true for a few of this MSC's other shops as well). The problem was the schedule repeatedly thanked me for the info on the closed locations, removed the shops from my in box and I was never paid the partial fee listed in the guidelines. I tried to contact the scheduler as well as others suggested from this site and could never get even an acknowledgment of the issue. It wasn't much money and not worth fighting over but even typing this I'm irritated.

To be clear, I do quite a bit of work with this MSC and on the rare occasion there have been issues, they were fixed quickly with excellent communication. Maybe it's just my bad luck with this shop. I keep it on my 10-foot pole list (even though I look at it longingly sometimes) so for my mental health.
bhaveesha.siyani@ipsos.com,

I did a closed location that had a bonus on it, then when my payment came, I was paid 1/2 the regular fee, not 1/2 the fee + bonus. I contacted my scheduler and did not hear back from her immediately. I contacted the person above (Veesha) who actually works for IPSOS and asked if she could forward my concerns to the appropriate party at IPSOS, and within a few days that was taken care of (can't remember how I got her email address but I had kept it in my online file folder). I sent Vheesha a screenshot of my email showing the bonus along with the email for proof and there was no problem. In my case I think it was $6, so yeah, not a lot of money, but it's the principal of the matter! Just letting you and others know that if you can get in touch with someone at IPSOS you can get issues like this taken care of more easily. Since IPSOS has the outside scheduling company there is only so much that the schedulers can do, but she certainly should have made some sort of attempt and communicated with you as such.
At this point I've only completed one shop for Ipsos. My direct communication with them was fine. I can't say the same for their outside schedulers. It really is a shame because at least one of my favorite schedulers is with Summit. She is the best with communication, but alas, she doesn't work on any Ipsos projects.

ipsos is in the top 3 msc's to work with and their relationship with summit is a testament to their degree of professionalism. add the unsurpassed level(s) of communication (ipsos and summit) = winning combo.

and, nope, i don't work for either.
parkcitybrian, while I agree they are generally very good to work with. I'm curious if that is your opinion or if there is a list somewhere ranking MSC's. I'd love to see a ranking of MSC's with information considered like response times to shopper inquiries, payment complaints etc.

As a student advocate, I often hear assurances from individuals about how great a school or district is because the individuals haven't had a problem. I agree with them. The school are sometimes highly ranked in the country and are amazing institutions for many students. Unfortunately for others, they are out of compliance with laws and getting the institutions to change is like pulling teeth. I think some MSC's can be like that, it would be great info to know.

hello and nope, there is no list. my ranking of ipsos as one of the top 3 (if not at the top) is purely subjective. however, there seems to be a consensus that ipsos is universally well-regarded (with the exception of some of the usual grumpsters who don't seem to be ever satisfied, i.e.: "kids, get off my lawn" sort of things.

having an opinion of msc's is like having an $%@hole...everyone has one.

i will say, however (again, my opinion) that intellishop is the worst (yep, the worst) msc to shop for. their editors are arbitrary giving degradations without explanation (after numerous requests as to why...altho it really doesn't matter), their reports contain numerous "drop down" windows require copious additional reporting and...their pay is horrible and not worth the effort. lots of comments on their terrible behavior.
I did a pizza shop for IS this past week...guidelines state to crop photos, then state to submit unedited photos. Which is it? Crop it or don't edit it? Isn't cropping a photo editing it? Doesn't matter, editor cropped it and dinged me a point. I'll get paid, that's all that matters.
Its been a while since I did them. Ermm, I did read the guidelines though, there is no minimum time to stay in store, right?

Also, lets say if the store asks which carrier you are with, how do you handle it?
Any help appreciated!

no time minimum (with no one waiting 15-20 min max is a good time) and pick whatever carrier you are not with (so they're unable to access your acct. via a phone #).
The Smartphone shops are super easy. Very little commenting required.

I start and end my month with Ipsos. It's the first job board I check at the beginning of the month, and the last job board I check if I need additional shops to reach my goal at the end of the month. Ipsos and Quality Assessments (QAMS) are very easy to work with, and they both are willing to bonus.

Chris, that's very helpful information, because I have thought off and on of doing one for IPSOS. But I've done a couple for Marits (with bonuses!!), and they did have quite a bit of narrative to include. So if you're saying these are not as narrative-heavy as the smartphone shops for Maritz, I may give them a try!
ChrisCooper, IPSOS willing to bonus?I'm envious. I only see bonuses from them at the end of the quarter and even then it's maybe two or three shops in the entire So. Cal area. I've picked a few up over the years but nothing like other MSC's.
