Hello All,
I have been reading the posts all around, and I think this will help anyone coming into this line of work. When I started working in Corporate America, my boss told me to always explain an acronym I am using. At least once in a document. So here are some that I know about to be useful in our business, and the forum as well, and anyone can ask, add, modify or explain any of the followings:
IC: Is Independent Contractor. I use this to describe the "Shopper" I and You are all working as ICs for the Mystery Shopping Provider company.
MSP: Is the Mystery Shopping Provider company.
OP: Refers to the Original Poster. That is the member who posted the very first question, query, comment in a thread of messages. I am the OP of this message thread.
A Message Thread: Oh This is not an acronym but it is the list of messages and replies to a message in a forum. Some messages get a few replies and the thread is short, others will have many replies and the thread is long.
PV-500L3 and PV-500L4: These are the models of the Digital Video Recorders (DVR) most used by Video ICs. The PV-500L4 is the newest model just released around May of 2017.
BU-18: Is the model of the digital button camera that is compatible with the PV-500L3 and PV-500L4 DVRs.
SD-Card: SD stands for Secure Digital and the card is what the DVR will use to save the video footage. Keep plenty of SD-Cards handy. It is advocated that one assignment shop per video card is the best way to go. My opinion is once I am done with the upload, I move the footage to my bigger laptop hard drive and save it for a while I am paid for the assignment. Look here for images of SD-Cards [
