Potbelly shop

Hey all. I signed up for my first Potbelly shop today. I was going to sign up for more but I noticed that it's a flat fee without reimbursement. Is this shop worth it? Has anyone done one before and what is the evaluation form like? Thanks!

Though I have not done one, I looked at it carefully yesterday. The form was pretty basic. If I remember correctly, there are three critical timings, to the second. Most of the rest was the usual restaurant observations.
It depends on you whether it's worth it or not. You get your sandwich paid for and make a minimal amount. Do you like potbelly food ? The report isn't too long and not too difficult. You will need to make some observations and get timings though.
I love their food lol, so it seemed good for me smiling smiley I just wanted to get other's feedback. Thanks!
I used to do this shop frequently when I worked almost next door to one of the locations. Since my office moved, it's not worth it to me to that location, and it's never been worth it to me to drive to either of the other two locations here in my city. The food is pretty good. Depending on how big a sandwich you order, and whether you get a shake (they have good shakes!), you may end up with a couple of dollars. The report is not bad, although there are several timings and some people are bothered by multiple timings. You'll enjoy a good fast meal but this is not a money-maker.
It's definitely not a money maker. I got the large sub and it's more than enough food. You do have to make note of people on line and details around the register as well as other assorted details.
I usually try to do it when I am going to be in the area doing other "shops" and I like the food. It pays for a lunch but not a money maker.
If you have to eat and it's convenient, it will save you from spending money out of pocket to eat somewhere else. And it's good food.
Avoid this type of shop if your goal is too maximize profit. However, if you don't mind having a sliver of revenue to offset the price of lunch and leave you with a few coins in your pocket go for it. It is a step above reimbursement only shops which I would never do but I do do these.
As you can see, objectively it's an easy shop. Of course, read the guidelines as the purchase requirements change. In general, a basic entree with a drink is covered and leaves a few extra bucks. You choose how to either make a few dollars or get a decent discount. I love this shop if already near by.

My argument as to the subjective value. Why spend an hour earning 14 dollars or less on a cell phone or jewelry store shop when you can spend half an hour on something like this.

I prefer fee plus reimbursement scenarios, can't fill my schedule with them so this is a great filler/alternative.

I used to do these for lunch while at work. It was chaotic to time and observe due to the masses. It would be so much more pleasant to do if hoards of people were not there buying lunch. Sandwiches are large and delicious. I say good luck!
Fee plus reimbursement would be ideal, I agree. We have Potbelly's here on basically every corner and I drive around all day so this is really easy and convenient for me. Plus I can make their food work for my weight watchers points! lol
Based on the conversation, I think it is this,

I should have posted the link to "let me Google that for you" insteadsmiling smiley

Quick lunch, delicious food and tea, and easy report, especially if it's drive-thru. That's worth my time. If it's dine-in, there's usually a local musician playing live music too.

Years ago my OB/GYN told me he was part of an investor group buying a Potbelly. Don't know if he's still involved or not, but when I saw the shop on the board I decided to try it out. As others have said the food is good. However, in my experience if you're doing a lunch shop you'd be wise to go near the beginning or end of the time frame. The one I've shopped is close to a major office area, and during the 'normal' office lunch period it's not unusual to stand in line for 15 minutes to order/get your food.

I want to do one of these shops but I can't make the lunch time constraints as there isn't one near my job.
For timing, run a voice recorder and you will be fine. You might even hear the associates in case you are not sure if they offered extras properly.

I love their food but never do this one for reimbursement only. Got lucky yesterday and picked one up for $24! They are pretty easy to do though.
The one in my area flies off the job board and is never bonused. It's well-loved, apparently.
I like them mainly because I like their food. I usually only make $1 or $2, but that + free lunch is worth it for me.
These shops sit on the board by me. First, the MSC will extend the hours, then they offer a small bonus. There are at least 4 locations nearby, and the two that are close to college campuses are the ones that sit the longest. Go figure. Plus, the Papa John's literally across the street from one campus would get up to a $30 bonus for delivery --that was with the dearly departed MSC.
