wish this was not in the guidelines!

Shop today, in the guidelines, 'do no make a purchase during this shop, or return later in the day to make a purchase.'

Oh how I wish that was not in the guidelines. Plus it's kind of silly, why ever not? I would look more like a regular customer if I did buy, of course that would make me really identifiable wouldn't it?

But oh how I hope that gorgeous little recliner is still there on clearance tomorrow........

As a regular shopper, I've gone back to a store in the same day after I've had time to think about the purchase...especially if it's a big dollar item. That's an odd guideline but they must have their reasons.

Are you required to provide your name and phone number to the sales associate? If so, is there a follow-up section in your report? That would cover your not returning as well as not making a purchase. By not making a purchase it definitely covers any final attempts to earn your business before you leave.

If you are not reporting on a follow-up call, couldn't you have called and asked about reserving the item until you could return the next day?

Send your husband / wife / mother / brother / neighbor with cash to get it for you ASAP
Did the instructions misspell "Not?" Where are those editors when we need them! But really, it is probably so the store can't look back to the date and time to get your personal information from credit card receipts. Some stores even require your contact info when you pay cash.
I agree with luckygirl! Send someone else to make the purchase!
