I wish they would mix it up

A lot of the companies continue to do the same boring shops. There were two companies I liked doing shops with last year but they don't offer them this year. BestMark has gotten boring. Trendsource as well. OMG! Anyone can recommend a company that has something new and interesting for me? Sick of car shops and grocery shops.

How many MSCs are you registered with? Where are you located. Those two things may make a big difference.

I think ten but I don't work with a lot of them now. I'm in the Los Angeles area. Seems like the top shops are Grocery, Dealerships, and Electronic. A Closer Look has the same pizza shops. Did one and never again.
Oh, goodness. Sign up with lots more companies! Just about everything is shopped -- oil changes, car washes, new tires, new beds, retail stores galore, big box stores, check cashing/money wiring, dry cleaners, car washes, banks, apartments, restaurants, gas stations, hotels. You'll find a variety that'll keep you busy for years! Last year I shopped for a garden tractor, a motorcycle, an ATV; and received financial advice, explored various checking accounts, and ate in places I never would have tried otherwise. There's a link to a list of companies at the bottom of this page.

PrestoInstaMaps shows hundreds of shops just in downtown LA.

When I was shopping full time, I had a wide variety of shops. I'm signed up with every MSC at the bottom of this page.

I live in Los Angeles and have never done any of the shops you mention above but I am busy with others and I am only signed up with about 25 companies. You really need to have enough companies to rotate in and out of the ones you like jobs at since they are always losing your favorite client but another one you like will pop up with a different company you are signed up with. I do love the ACL pizza shop though.
@rosaestanli, every now and then a topic about "favorite shops" will pop on the forum. You'll get a good idea of the types of shops that are available. Then it's just a matter of signing up with the MSCs to see who shops those customers. Here's a link to a recent thread [www.mysteryshopforum.com]

@HonnyBrown, that is impressive that you're signed up with every MSC! Wonder if anyone else can say that? smiling smiley I'm at about 100.
rosaestanli,is the reimbursement or fee worthwhile? If so, boring is not a bad thing. If not, there are many other fish (MSCs) in the sea.
Adding to the list provided by ceasesmith: valet parking, self-parking, investment counselors, assisted and independent living, medical offices, new home sales, home rentals, office rentals, home and auto insurance, airport shuttle buses, bicycle shops, tire rotations, cash integrity shops of many sorts, air and long distance bus travel, and many more.
Most busy shoppers are signed up with 50 or more MSCs. Serious shoppers are signed up with 100 to 200 or more.

Really, bicycle shops? Which MSC does those?
I do not recall. I did a few in the DC area about 10 years ago, but have moved on to making more profitable 1 day routes. They paid OK, but I seldom had other center city shops to pair with them.

Oh, almost forgot to add, ice skating and roller skating shops, bowling, zoos, museums, time shares.

And pretzels, and thrift stores! Sporting goods, pet food, nurseries (plants, not babies!).

Some of my favorite companies right now are Bare International, Second to None, B Business Solutions, Customer Impact and Athpower.

I've done baseball game shops, museums, basketball game shops, and bank shops with those companies.
Aquariums, zoo, spy museum, souveneir photo shops, day trips on local sighting boat, dinner cruise, casinos, post office, florist delivery, travel agents, churches and strip clubs! Every type of business is shopped!

In addition to the other great ideas, you might take a break from certain shops for awhile. Just don't do them. Find other companies, other jobs (mystery shopping or otherwise), and have some fun with something new.

Here is an example of what I mean. By choice, I am taking a year off from several shop types. Next year, if I still do this, I can try a few of them and find out if I want to do more. Meanwhile, I have other jobs and personal things to do. Next year, I will take the year off from other job types. In 2019, if I and they are still in this business, I might return to them. Or not. It's all good.

Keep in mind that clients might change their MSC affiliations. In future, your favorite MSCs might have new-to-you jobs that you will enjoy.
