Tomorrow is the "absolute last day to shop" and my shop cannot be "rescheduled to 8/15 or 8/17"... hmmmm half pay?

So, I signed up for a shop that is supposed to be done on 8/16. It's a lower paying shop at $20, but it's 0.3 miles from work and will take all of 10 minutes total. I snag it up. Well, I drive by today and their hours have changed. They are now closed on Sundays and Wednesdays. I call and ask about dates being changed with the MSC but the scheduler isn't available so I leave a message. The scheduler doesn't call me back but instead sends an email message:

"Meghan,

Unfortunately, 8/16 is the only date available to perform this shop. There is a hard completion date of 8/16. There are no reschedule dates available. It is unable to be rescheduled to 8/15 or 8/17 as you have requested." And at the bottom it says reschedules and cancels will reflect on my shop report.

Hmmmm So... do I just stop on by and take a photo of the closed building tomorrow since it says they will pay half fee if the business is closed? Same company told me last time when I warned that a business was entirely closed to please stop by and take photographic proof for my shop report and submit. Meh?

Yes. I mean, what other option is there at this point?

Pretty much my thoughts. I'll add a photo of the new hours on the report along with a screen grab of the shops hours so they can update... or not update it at their leisure.

Sounds like the scheduler didn't really pay attention to your message. But I agree take the photo and get your half-fee.

Took my photos this morning and submitted. Will await the report grade. The editor will likely see the photos of the hours and signage and half-fee is but stinks the scheduler wasn't paying much attention.

Not paying attention to the content of emails seems to be the normal these days. There are so many places where I think a robot or a robotic person scans and sees one key word and sends an answer based on the most frequent question using that word. Seems to me in your case that word was reschedule. Not just msc unfortunately have this habit.
I actually called and left a voicemail but it's still the same idea with just scanning and listening for key words. Ah well, easy shop and perhaps it'll hit the boards again soon for a date they're actually open.

I can't tell you how many times I have sent an email to a scheduler or left a voice mail with an account manager and had them reply with an answer to one of my questions or completely not understand (voice mail) what I was saying at all!! It's frustrating when people don't do their jobs correctly.
We have all had those times when an email responds answering one or two questions out of four or five asked. While this does not always solve the problem, I've found taking questions out of the body of the email and listing them like bullet points usually yields better results.

Yes, and I have done that for that very reason, and still only had the first question answered out of several. I actually list them with numbers and put a space in between each sentence. And I speak slowly and clearly when I leave voice mails. Recently there was a new account manager who assigned me a project for a consumer product retrieval. I sent both emails and voice mails to this person and she had poor comprehension of both. It caused additional emails from me trying to make her understand particulars about the situation. Frustrating.

yes i do this. short & sweet is best for emails. people have short attn spans. how many of us have skimmed over thos long forum posts that go on & on & on/
I called and said "hi, this is Meghan XX and my shopper ID number is 12345, I'm calling about shop #6789 The location is not open on the shop date of 8/16. They will be closed and I'd like to reschedule to 8/15 or 8/17 please if it's possible so that I can shop them on a date they are open. My callback number is ______________. "

They made it to the dates part. I took my photo this morning and submitted. They were probably in a crunch and didn't care one way or another.

Either that or they only heard "I'd like to reschedule to 8/15 or 8/17" and the rest sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher to them...
On another note, did another shop of the same kind as the one where I had the ESL editor who didn't agree with my math. Submitted all my info just like I had planned, $15 for food, $2 tip for $17. Received a shop grade of 10 -_-

"Comments: ~ Thank you for your report! A score of 10/10 has been given because you followed all of the shop's guidelines and submitted a complete report that was immediately able to be sent to the client. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!"

I once got an evaluation with almost that exact same comments and a shop grade of 10. The only problem? I hadn't done the shop yet! lol I sent an email to the scheduler and never heard back from her. Those comments stayed on the shop log right through my submitting the report on the shop I did. lol
